In short: Tough but fun
In full: Tough hilly off road race, great fun and well organised. The Marshals were friendly and encouraging and the facilities at the end were great. Some sort of memento at the end would have been nice but regardless of this I would highly recommend this race.

In short: Stunning route
In full: An excellent off road race. Glorious route & well organised. No chip timing as advertised but not a major issue. Pre race brief very clear & consise advising of extra length & no mile markers. Could have done with a better goody bag/momento but post race facilities excellent with use of the changing rooms & pool (Appreciate the pool may not have been to all peoples tastes) First time for me on this one but looks like the previous events negative comments were acted upon. Hope to be back again

In short: Hilly and more than a half! Well-organised and friendly.
In full: Overall a well-organised race, no problems on the course, plenty of water stations and signposting. Quite hilly, and it was about 14.3 miles rather than 13.1. Wasn't too worried about no chip timing as it didn't really need it. Nice to have hot soup afterwards.

In short: Challenging race with great scenery & organisation
In full: No chip timing (which had been advertised). Overall great race, very friendly - both competitors & marshalls. Quite a hilly course - hills seemed worse on the way back! Not too much mud & luckily the rain stopped! No mile markers but good directions markers. Garmin measured course as 14.3 miles.

In short: Excellent organisation and great course make this a fantastic race.
In full: The venue was fine, plenty of parking and facilities. The course was challenging, a few steep hills, some boggy stretches and plenty of undulations. Marshalling was great and directional signage good but no distance markers. The pre race brief was very clear. The scenery was wonderful and varied and competitors very chatty. The down sides were the lack of timing chip and a poor goodie bag, although it has to be said there was free hot soup and roll for all at the finish. Would definately recommend this race although beginners would be very challenged.

In short: A suprisingly tough run across the beuatiful New Forest
In full: Run starts from a campsite which is a great idea as there was an abundance of toilets and shower facilities plus food for afterwards. We were lucky that the torrential rain stopped before the race started. The tracks were well maintained in most places so not too much slipping around. So not as tough as some off-roaders but this meant you could run at an evenish pace - unfortunately I underestimated those hills and mine was too fast! A really good course that was very well marshalled. My only gripe might be the lack of medal and dropping of chip-timing as advertised - this made the £16 entry seem a bit high. However, I would definitely recommend this one.

In short: Hard, wet, but worth it
In full: As someone not used to trial running it was a bit of a toughy for a half M, although I did it in normal running shoes and they were fine. No scrambling through bogs or uphill on all fours. There were no mile markers so you had no idea how far to go, and some who were using GPS seemed to think it was over 14m by the end Organisation was first class and many thanks to all the marshalls who cheered us on. Clearly no problem with the car parking that seemed to be an issue last year. I would do again but may need to up the ante on the fitness ! Al

In short: Perfect FLM training run. Worth turning up just for the fantastic views and warm words from the really friendly marshalls.
