In short: As always - great stuff from 2:09 - well done Mike G and crew. In full: Been meaning to do this for years and always miss out for some reason. First race of year, tail end of cold and felt very tired. First mile flew by, perhaps a little too quickly. At 3 miles I felt like it was going to feel a looong way - but at 5 or so I found my groove and started to pick loads of people off. Canal path made this hard, but once it thinned out was OK. Stairs up to road were tough, managed to grin at photographer first. Didn't feel the final hill - but just missed going sub 60 mins by 54 seconds. Will be back for more next year. In short: Loved the new route. First class organization, as always In full: An enjoyable race on good ground. I liked the new route, the woods were nice and it meant a bit less of the boring road. Perfect organization, as we have come to expect. Date of review: January 24, 2010
In short: My First Event - If there all this good, keep them coming ! In full: For my first event this was a great event to start with; I am a local, so know the area well. The route didn't make the best of the scenery but made sence for the number of runners, but a bit more canal would have been good. The venue, organisation and IT worked well, a few more toilet would have been handy. A Special race ? Yes - my home turf and 1st Event. Thanks! Date of review: January 24, 2010
In short: A wonderful muddy romp down the canal In full: This is the third time I've run this event and it gets better every year. The organisers do a great job, and tweak the course every time to make it that bit better. Medals seem to be getting cheaper, and a few more goodies at the end would be nice. But I'll be back next year. Date of review: January 24, 2010
In short: Excellent run, beautiful by the canal. Really nice length without too many hills. In full: A few more toilets at the start would be handy and the steps at mile 7 were a bit tough, but overall a very good run, mainly in lovely countryside and near the canal. I would definitely do it again!
