In short: Clubby, but also friendly and fun. Glorious route, great organisation In full: Despite terrible weather forecasts everything was done to make sure the race went ahead, and all efforts were rewarded with a beautiful morning and a super-enjoyable race. Date of review: January 18, 2015
In short: Great start to the year In full: This was my third time doing the Fred Hughes, but having missed a couple of years I'd forgotten how hilly it is! Never mind, it's a nice course, very well organised and enthusiastic support from the marshals. A great race to blow away the winter cobwebs. Date of review: January 18, 2015
In short: Well organised, undulating race In full: Really enjoyed my first outing to the Fred Hughes 10. Great marathon fitness test and whilst the course is certainly undulating with two testing hills, I am surprised by how many people (myself included) posted a PB. Except for the start which is crowded this is a wonderfully organised and friendly race. Date of review: January 18, 2015
In short: Tough race, well organised but goody bag!!? In full: The race itself was great, good facilities and a short walk to the start line. Start area very compact for number of entrants. Makes for a sluggish start. This could improve. Course and scenary was good and testing plenty of climbs to get the legs and lungs burning..... But seriously, a hugely disappointing goody bag! What was that about!?
In short: Keep the alternative route! In full: Another good run from St Albans Striders. Please keep the alternative route - it's a good test and not too repetitive. Well organised event and a great HQ. Thanks Date of review: January 18, 2015
