In short: Challenging beyond belief!
In full: In dry weather conditions, this would have been an excellent course. But, with all the mud 3quarters of your time is take trying to stay on your feet. It was more like an Ice Rink! Would I do it again under the same conitions...You Bet!!

In short: The hardest race if you can call it that that I will ever do. Some points you were climbing and hanging on for dear life.

In short: Consistently good but this one was just a bit too slippy!
In full: 2008 Dorset Half - My third Endurance Life event and once again the course was breathtaking. Fantastic coastal views, hardcore hills (one slippery hill was more like climbing than running) and very friendly runners. The usual good organisation from a friendly bunch. However, severe rain preceding the event meant that >70% of the course was a clay mud ice rink. I mean really slippy, on the edge of cliffs and next to barbed wire fences. Even with fell runners on you didn't have a chance of staying vertical. I'd be surprised if someone didn't get badly injured. Worse for me though was the damage we did to the coastal path. We churned it up so badly I think it will take a long long time to recover. The food was pants (bring back the Portland lasagne) and dog tags seem to have been dropped for this new series. That being said, this is by far the best (and toughest) trail run series. See you in Cornwall in April!

In short: Nobody does it better...
In full: ...another classic Endurancelife event with all the trademarks - hills, mud, spectacular scenery, more hills, more mud. There were some horrendously steep, slippery sections (my hands were as muddy as my feet by the end!) and the cabbage fields were a really nice touch... but plenty of lovely running too.

In short: Excellent race
In full: Good job by the organisers - arranged for sun, a meal at the end, and mud so foul that one of the climbs required use of hands (its really a fell race - ~ 700 m? of climbing, most hills ~ 1 in 4. Very well marked course (although something went wrong in the last field resulting in an irate local). Its was the slowest half marathon I've ever done - 50 minutes off PB! I'd recommend the rest of the series.

In short: Enjoyable but quick runners should realise that everyone has to start somewhere and stop being so elitist

In short: Probably shouldn't have done this for my first marathon!
In full: Yes thats right my first one, silly move probaby, but glorious scenery certainly made up for the hardest effort i have ever put into anything, the extra 4 miles which i wasn't expecting at the end was a bit cruel, but i'll let them off!
