In short: Scenic, well organised but challenging race (Especially for beginners) In full: I really enjoyed the race, despite the torrential rain. Normally used to street running so the hills were challenging and it was a new experience running on trails for me, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Even managed to get round without standing on cow pats! Marshalls were encouraging us round on what was a day with absolutely terrible weather and big thanks to them for that! Love the mug as well. Just a shame about the awful weather today - but will be back again to do it in hopefully glorious sunshine. Date of review: July 16, 2011
In short: Scenic, well organised race In full: I really enjoyed the race, despite the weather. Marshalls encourage you round and run on nice quiet country roads. Off road section really nice. Love the mug. Just a shame about the weather thats all - but will be back again. Date of review: July 16, 2011

Left my address and it's just been habd delivered to me, 40 miles away and a few weeks later! No run I have ever done has this level of runner care!! Oh and it's a great run, challenging but brilliant. Date of review: November 10, 2010
In short: Another great race this year In full: This cannot fail to be one of the best races around.Stunning scenery, tied in with the country show, make this a great day out. Will run this race til the legs give up on me!!! Date of review: July 22, 2010
In short: Challenging course - will test your stamina! In full: Enjoyed this race, the hills arent steep but they do seem to go on forever! Loved the downhill bit in the middle and again at the finish. Just needed to be wary of the cyclists racing in the opposite direction. Plenty of water/sponge stations & cheerful marshalls. Will be back next year! Date of review: July 19, 2010
In short: 2nd time round and just as special. In full: Fabulous race. The hills aren't too difficult or steep, althought the one between 4-6 miles does drag on a bit. I just keep my head down and don't notice it so much then. I love the off road section and the downhill sprint at the end. Lovely mug again to add to my burgeoning collection. In short: Great race, great scenery, killer hills! In full: 1st time running this event and really enjoyed it! Challenging hill sections with the 1st that just seemed to keep going, and some really fast downhill sections especially at the end.
Great scenery that made the hill sections worth it and plenty of water and sponge stations to keep you going!
In short: Enjoyed it but hard In full: Very well organised event with plenty of water stations. Tough course with some nasty hills. Wasnt really expecting the off road bit - more like cross country than a road race and didnt enjoy the Highland cows at 8 miles who wanted to join in. The show is good to have a wander round and lots of food available to buy afterwards - really enjoyed my tea and cake. Minor gripe - why no ladies team prize? Date of review: July 18, 2010
