In short: Another superb event at Gosport In full: Yet again another fab run here. No PB for me this year but only as I didn't really push for it. The Marshals are simply wonderful and encouraging, the goody-bag has to be the best around and the childrens' race was lovely to keep children occupied for a while when the adults were out on the course. ....see you again next year! In short: If you don't PB at Gosport you never will! In full: You aren't going to be charmed by magical views, but this race is all about the PB opportunity. Pancake flat route, great organization and well supported (I've never seen so many marshalls!). Parts of the course are a little narrow but that's a small quibble. Nice fun run to keep the kids entertained - and awesome cake in the swag-bag. Huge PB for me and a good day out. Date of review: November 18, 2013
In full: Was expecting a PB, and was not disappointed, help by the brilliant marshals’ along the course ideal weather, and the Samba band on the slog around the airfield, would recommend to anyone looking for a PB, only trouble is next half is going to be hard to beat this time.
Only minor criticism was the bag drop, while I escaped the queue, many did not, think it was being held up by runners not having labels on their bags, something to look at next time.
In short: Fast and flat with amazing organisation-BRILLIANT! In full: A fantastic race, so well organised and enthusiastically marshalled. The route is a bit dull around the airfield but it's flat and you can get around quickly, moving on to the glorious coastal strecth of the route! Generous goody bag and lovely medal.....a great event, well done! Date of review: November 18, 2013
In short: Excellent race! In full: Gosport Runners should be very proud and pleased at organising such an excellent race today. All the marshals were so vocal and supportive in encouraging every runner. The goody bag was far superior to the majority on offer at more expensive races.....Endurancelife please take note........but then it was organised by a running club! One suggestion would be to have the option of a bag drop at the finish. Another point I would like to make again is the selfish attitude of many runners who just discard their gel packets along the route. I watched one unaffiliated runner just throw his down on the grass verge. I would disqualify anyone for doing this in future as this wasn't an isolated event and happens at most races now.
