In short: Having taken part in this event before, I knew what I was in for! I found it more difficult this year, though this was due to lack of training!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will certainly be back next year!! I

In short: Still a favourite
In full: This was my second time at the Bolt and like the first time I really enjoyed the race; it has a really good atmosphere.
The finish is really good and you can hear the spectators cheering before you get back to the finish area.

In short: Very enjoyable
In full: Great race, very well organised and marshalled, excellent atmosphere. Looking forward to next year. Thanks to all involved, especially those who cut down all the long grass and nettles - it was almost a jungle in places before the event!

In full: Great race because the terrain is quite challenging, the scenery was pretty good & the people were great. However the bottleneck as we left the field at the start & queued at the first stile was infuriating! Most of the course is single track so it's very difficlt to overtake. Lesson learnt for next time - make sure you place yourself near the front of the pack at the start otherwise you'll get stuck at the back. Otherwise a superb event with a good mixture of runners. I drove up with my family from Somerset & they loved it too (although my husband gave my a lot of flack for not running it quicker - bloody cheek)!!

In short: A great off road run, challenging but not the toughest
In full: Fantastic to have a run that all the family can be involved in on a friday evening. The run was enjoyable, fantastic scenery and not too many up hill sections although the sandy parts were tough especially the last 1.5 miles. Beautiful down hill section from 3 to 5 miles through woodland. Fantastic organisation and friendly atmosphere with many staying at the end to cheer home the remainding finishers.

In short: Have run all 3 Bolts so far, and will make it 4 next year. Excellent event!
In full:

3 out of 3 at the Bolt for me, and once again this was an excellent event. Great village green setting with BBQ, beer tent, playground for the kids etc. Varied but not especially testing course, although tiring as much of it is on sandy tracks, with a few inclines to get the pulse up! Really well put together by the people of Blakedown, with help from Stourbridge RC.

Very well done to all involved.

In short: Different!!
In full: First time doing this and didn't expect this.
Good points
Great family atmosphere
Great organisation
Poor points
Single file running after 500m didn't help and was frustrating.
Scenery looked fantastic but spent 70% of the race looking at the floor to ensure didn't twist ankle.

If you want a challenge then do this!!
