In short: Hills, heat, humidity - it had it all!
In full: I expected a tough trail race and I certainly got it with this race. Never seemed to get into my stride - where were the flat bits!! Very well organised - the best race so far on this front. The humidity and the heat cost me my time but I'll hopefully beat the 2hrs+ next year.

In short: I had a fantastic run - thank you!
In full: The route was well signed, and very challenging. Everytime I started struggling another cheering marshall appeared. They did an excellent job and I can't thank you all enough for helping me round. They all knew exactly which mile marker they were near and had a good knowledge of what was coming up, which I think is essential. Thanks also to the lovely Liss Runner who came running over to me with water as I came out of the finish area looking a little wobbly. I was shockingly slow, but I had a great run through beautiful quiet countryside. Definitely one to do again.

In short: A hard race
In full: Much harder than last year, not because there was no sun either. Felt like a sauna for the first few miles, definitely had the wrong top on!! More steep hills which caused many bottle necks when people stopped to walk. Those who wanted to run could not, which probably contributed to the slower times this year. I was 19 minutes slower!!

In short: Lots of hills
In full: Thought it was musch better runing in the opposite direction. Really enjoyed it. Excellent. Think the weather helped as it was ideal for running in. Roll on next year!

In short: Has the Sussex Countryside risen by a few hundred feet?
In full: As a seasoned runner I found today's race very hard. An extra 16 minutes on last year. Okay an extra mile, but it was cooler than in 2007. Thanks a million for the jelly babies at the last drink stop. Saved me big time.

In short: Tough, but very good race.
In full: Very good organisation and very well marked in the wooded areas. The marshalls who seemed to appear in the wilderness were very encouraging and had plenty of water, and even a box of jelly babies to hand out. Nice views, friendly runners of many abilities and plenty of hills to keep the heart rate pumping. Will def be here again next year.

In short: a good run but slow well organised
In full: it was a very well organised race. I was just too slow. No tea and cakes left this year.
