In short: Very pretty course with some challenging hills - up and down! In full: Arrived at approx 09:15 for a 10:30 start, and the race number desk wasnt quite ready (my only slightly negative point!)... perhaps I'm just too keen!
I actually found the downhill section in the 1st and 6th km tougher than the uphill at 4th and 9th... those tree roots could easily catch you out! Went out rather quicker than planned, but found someone doing a sensible pace, and followed him for the next 7k!
Suggestions - Marshals were a little on the quiet side, and could have done with a longer run-off area behind the finish line - a sprint finish with only about 4 or 5 meters to stop before being presented with your medal was a touch short!
All in all, a fantastic race, and I'll almost certainly be back next year! Date of review: October 23, 2010
In short: Excellent event. Look forward to next year. In full: Route was very scenic, organisation and marshalling excellent. A challenging and very enjoyable race that I would recommend to anyone. Date of review: October 26, 2009
In short: Two lapper multi-terrain - hilly and hard but enjoyable In full: Rain and some mud made it heavy going - especially as it was a 2 lapper and you knew you had to climb those hills again - but overall very good. Parking was good and organisers very friendly and encouraging Date of review: October 26, 2009
In short: Friendly and cosy In full: Despite the rainy weather and my painful side-stitich, it was a very scenic route, some hills but not too bad, and very supportive atmosphere. Date of review: October 25, 2009
