In short: Soaking wet, covered in mud and freezing cold but what brilliant fun! In full: Great event superbly organised and marshalled. It was a bit daunting at first surrounded by tri-athletes this being my first duathlon. Great fun even ending up sitting in freezing cold water/mud at the bottom of a dyke!I'll definitely be doing this event again. Date of review: January 4, 2009

In short: mud, dykes, mud, scenery, mud, brilliant marshalls - did I mention the mud! In full: Another extraordinary TRRAC race. Not a normal event... a few miles along the seafront then onto the bike and 9ish miles of the most challenging muddy, energy sapping, cycling that I have ever done. It took an hour to clean my bike which gives some measure of how filthy the course was! Running was quicker than cycling, but jumping through 10' wide dykes slowed the run leg down to a crawl at points! I was filthy from head to toe and grinning like a fool at the end. this was a bloody hard race, but great fun! Defo one to repeat in the future - it's pretty hardcore this early in the season. As with all TRRAC races, the marshalling and organisation were spot on - everyone was friendly and encouraging and supportive. Great Sweatshirt at the end. 10/10. Date of review: January 7, 2008
