In short: Hot & Hilly In full: Friendly marshals and a route that after the first few miles becomes nicely challenging. Seven water stations is a good idea for a summer run, though plastic cups can be harder to get a good drink from while running. Also kudos for getting the results done so quickly; why can't more events do this? Only real downside to event for me is that the tech t-shirts, while nice, were identical to last year. I like the badgers, but how about adding the race date next year at least? Date of review: July 14, 2013
In short: Hot, hills but a wonderful race just the same In full: What I should have done like a couple of the other reviewers here is calmed it down because of the heat. But I ran it like a mentalist just the same. I really it though I did have a headache for a few hours afterwards. Value for money: excellent. I can't rememeber exactly what this cost - £20'something - which you would pay for a breathable running top in the shops (which was one of the prizes for finishing). Bottle of beer was a nice touch too but no bottle openers around, which would be my one very, very tiny complaint. Bob Date of review: July 14, 2013
In short: Superb In full: Wonderrful race; organisation excellent, results posted before we left the venue, the marshalls were very good. Some er, interesting hills especially the one near mile 10! The water stations at every 2 miles were a welcome sight especially in the heat - the sponges were a great touch as was the optional hose down at the finish! Be nice if you arrange for it to be a bit cooler next year, please. But ... why are there 40 badgers on the T-shirt?
Now to enjoy that bottle of Badger beer, thanks for that. :)
In short: Too hot for heroics, but still excellent In full: Great race in hot conditions. Too hot to worry about the time - just nice to finish. Great pineapple, oranges and melon at the end - bliss. Thanks to all the marshals and to Alan and Nicky at run to Live. My niece took 1:10 off her half marathon PB! Date of review: July 14, 2013
In short: Challenging but great fun! In full: Thank you for the excellent organisation and supportive marshalling. I used the race as a build up for the Beechyhead Marathon - it really helped. Date of review: October 30, 2012
In short: Fantastic race one of the best! In full: A must do on the running calendar - well organised, friendly and a personal handshake from the race director and a well done at the finish. Not too hilly, just enough of a challenge and the 2.5 km fun run was a hit for my daughter who loved the whole sporting occasion. Great race! Great day out in beautiful Surrey!
