In short: Best Ever In full: Many thanks to Dr Rob and the great bunch of marshals. I like the new format and the great goodies - a new mug to take into work (will sit along side the other from 2009 that was always a talking point at the kettle!). This race gets better and better, shame my fitness doesn't but hey ho! Happy New Year everyone! :) Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: God Save the Queen ! ... & Long Live the Piper ! In full: Thanks Dr Rob, 2nd time in Knacker Cracker and I know now it will become a tradition. Leith Hill is already becoming a tradition, this year will be my 3rd ... see you at Leith Hill (the Knacker Cracker and then Leith Hill are my two favourite races for starting each New Year. I won't run on road anymore but after Leith I usually revert to more local off road races ... which admittedly tend to be easier in comparison) Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: Hard but well earned fun! In full: My first time, liked the mass start but really regret not making a proper effort for the fancy dress. Will hopefully make amends next year. The atmosphere was brilliant from the rousing National Anthem at the start to the prizes at the end. It is refreshing to enter an event where I am not chasing a PB but just having fun! Thanks for a great start to my year. Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: Tough, but great In full: I really enjoyed this race (did it first time). It is incredibly tough, but glorious views and also very well organised. Excellent start to the new year and although quite expensive to enter, the goodies and food were very good. Will definitely do it again. Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: SPOT ON In full: As usual Dr Rob has it spot on. These races are always the highlight of my calender. They are the toughest yet most rewarding and without a doubt the friendliest and best organised. If i had to give up all other races trionium would be the ones I'd stick with. In short: Now that Dr Rob has made the race even harder, it's much better. In full: I love doing the knacker cracker, it's a great start for each new year. It starts hard, then gets a little bit harder, and then it's pure torture going up the steps in the final kilometre. The marshals were great, the Grim Reaper at the top of Juniper Hill and nice touch. Dr Rob's races are always a friendly affair, with the national anthem at the start cementing this. In short: Superb event, great crowd In full: First "crack" at this event and would definitely do it again, with a costume this time. Great location and challenging course, downhill start was spectacular. Thanks to all marshalls and helpers, you can't run these events without them. Prefer mass start but understand some people's gripes with it, you can't please everyone unfortunately. Originally found the entry fee a bit steep, but the goodies, food at the end, charity donation and memories of a slightly surreal first day of the year amply made up for it.
