In short: Good PB race but poorly organised.
In full: A perculiar race! The chance to see spectators was good and PB opportunties also good. However, marshalls not very helpful and had to follow others to the start (no directions!) Also, more water would have been useful and a goody bag usually means receiving a bag! This was my 3rd half marathon and would not recommend this to absolute beginners, some v serious competitors! Generally enjoyed it though.

In short: V tough course, but one for the future
In full: It was great to run around the course I had watched cars tear around when I was younger. I found lap 3 a bit tough, lap two I pushed too hard. The ending was a bit bemusing. I wasn't sure if I had finished. The marshal had to tell me where to go for (non-existent) goody bag. A big bunch of marshals congregating around a simple turn but one poor bloke at the end looked sloppy. The facilities were great though. A bit low on atmosphere. I'm glad I didn't come on my own! I beat my PB, which made it a special race for me. This race will be both better run and supported in the future no doubt.

In short: hear hear, lack of markers, one water station!
In full: Wonderful course, Marshalls very poor with little idea of their duties.
Second lap with the lack of distance markers, I asked a marshall what distance I'd done? His reply "depends what lap your on" Innocently I rased two CLOSED fingers to be told "f%@k you aswell" Great encouragement!
Not great prepration for a race to stand in a queue for 20 min or so to sign in.
Despite that, put in a PB, sure it will get better!

In short: Only my 2nd half marathon - Major gripe is lack of distance markets and of ocurse only the one water station. Great to run in the famous racing circuit.Good for spectators and like the undulating course.Could turn into a big event in the future

In short: No mile markers and shirt n water stations
In full: This was my first half marathon distance and I would say it was one to avoid for slower runners (I came in in 2:14) The run at the back of the field was lonely with spectators diverting cars from the course and marchalls being far apart. My last min decision to run with my nike plus was a good one as it was my only hint as to distance covered. The wind, rain, blazing sun and totally undulating course made it a hard run but at least it has room for improvement for its second year

In short: Was I blind? Where were socks?
In full: Not best value for money. Organisation not great. Decent course but not many stewards around given we were running in mini-circles and passing slower/faster runners at points.Registration took longer than expected. No-one really around at the finish so I just walked back onto the finishing straight and off to friends/car. Too knackered and disorientated to seek out socks. Were people giving these out with goody bags?

In short: Has potential to be a great race in the future
In full: Organisation and communication could have been better and lack of prize ceremony meant that it all fizzled out at the end. The prize list was a bit dire too given the entry fee. Still, an enjoyable event and a great venue.

In short: Lovely run not got the Tshirt
In full: I must say I really enjoyed this run. Got a kick out of running on the circuit and nice twists and turns in field. A few tweeks and this could be great. There really is no excuse for lack of mile markers especially when doing laps. Not sure why people are complaining about the lack of water. Two stations seems about standard for the distance. Drop price or improve goody bag. Will do next year because I expect them to impove.

In short: New PB but T shirt / medal would have been nice for £16. More water and mile markers needed.

In short: Glad I did it but not really impressed.
In full: This is a famous old curcuit and well worth worth the journey to get onto the track itself. You'd think there was no chance of getting lost but I know of at least one unfortunate who managed it.

Three laps gave an oportunity to have more water stations, surely two on each lap was possible.

The registration, which everone had to complete on the day took an age with very long queues and after that we were left to make our own way to the start with no aid from any of the officials. A simple direction sign would have been nice.

£16 gets you a pair of socks and carb gel. Hmm not exactly fantastic value, do these poor triathletes have to pay through the nose for every event?

As I said, glad I did it but for me it's a definate one off.
