In short: Glad I did it - where were you?? How long was that first hill? Good job it wasn't steep!b
In full: I love my medal! The goody bag was good with the usual promotional freebies....I'm expecting the Saab will turn up on my driveway tonight. At the start I thought I was in for a thrashing because everybody looked really up for it so I was pleased to finish a respectable 87th - only 46 seconds slower than my M/cr 10k time. Free Red Bull before hand - one criticism - the 'old' safety pins were hard to get through my shirt and left small holes and... why were the km markers so far apart??? (joke!)

In short: Excellent and tough trail race.
In full: This was a fantastic race, the hill was long but the zig zags made it runable. The route was obviously well planned with plenty of variation. Great atmosphere, excellent goody bag. forget thew roads get on the trails!

In short: I know it said would be undulating but to start off 2km up hill. Thought it should have been set out to at least get into before the first hilll. Apart from that, nice run. Not sure would do it again because of the start.

In short: Mixed Feelings
In full: Highs
Well marked trail,
Lovely area,
Challenging Course,
It was local,
The hill was a great start

Lows
Expensive,
Start could have done with being split by expected finishing time, or by having chip timing,
Too many slow runners at the front of the race, that then decided to walk up the first hill!
For the price, No T Shirt ?
3k was very expensive, so not viable for the kids to run,

In short: lovely scenery, challenging course. Goodybag was fab.
In full: I had a great time on this run, despite the challenging course. The view from the top of the hill was lovely. I was very impressed with the generous goody bag

In short: My first trail race - well organised but the hill was tough!
In full: This is a well-organised, beginner friendly race in lovely surroundings. But beware beginners, you need to be prepared for a solid uphill 2K climb at the very start - and some more short, sharp hills to come. Some congestion on the first hill was inevitable, with many people walking from the off.

The course was well marked and there were two water stations, though there were few marshals around the course. Some support wouldn't have gone amiss - it felt like a lonely slog at points.

Fairly good goodie-bag containing a medal, branded shoe bag and various energy snacks - though I'd have liked a T-shirt and/or chip-timing for the price.

In short: My first trail race. A good friendly intro to a road alternative. Bit slow at start due to the narrow winding track. But that was probably a good thing. Really enjoyed it.
