In short: expensive and poorly organised in parts
In full: The crowd were welcoming & supportive which provided a great atmosphere & motivation for runners.
However..the organisation on the day was poor. The only water station wads understaffed (I didn't get any) and ran of water, the markers were none existent and most shocking of all - the course was incorrectly measured amazing in the Olympic borough! Finally with runners cold it took up to 30 minutes to queue for baggage. And one other thing...there are still no pictures available on the site.
I won't be entering next year.

In short: Love this race.
In full: This was the third time I've done this race, this time it was as a London Marathon warm-up.
I always really enjoy the Newham experience and will be back next year. Just a shame we couldn't run up to the Olympic Stadium this year.

In short: Newham Classic 9.6K
In full: My second running of this event, with noticeable improvements over last year in start and finish organisation. Traffic control and marshalling faultless too. This year's route was largely along the traffic free Greenway which I liked. http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/82712561

Things to improve for next year:
* baggage reclaim was understaffed,
* route markers in final km through park could be clearer to help avoid unintentional corner cutting.

Finally, although personally not a big deal, we have received a formal apology by email for the race only being 9.6km! I bet they get that right next year: and I look forward to taking part.

In short: Enjoyable, uplifting, organised, potential for good times
In full: This event was overall very good and I'd definitely do it again. I've done it the past couple of years, and each time time the race route showed the gradual construction of the Olympic stadium progressing -- this year the route did not pass the stadium, which was a shame (especially it being the Olympic year). However, the organisation was seamless.

Everything went very well, except perhaps my own travel to the race! (Word of warning, there is more than one Westfield shopping center in London!! Oops).

Organisation was very good, free post-race massages available, free food + cups of tea on a cold morning, good goodie bag contents (though had hoped for post-run food, but instead received a Well-Woman drink... not sure what they're suggesting!).

In short: Impressive race, interesting scenery, good organisation and a community feel
In full: Overall I was quite happy with this race. Interesting route, good atmosphere, got a decent medal and tshirt and the people seemed friendly.

All good with the exception of 2 little niggly things:

1. Post-race, the queue for our bags was so long it took me 25 mins to get my bag. Combine that with aching muscles, post-race shivers and the cold and wind it was not pleasant.

2. (this is not something the organisers could have done anything about but for me it took away from the positive experience) There was no DLR on the day of the race and the buses were diverted due to the race which means it took me 1.5hrs to get to the race and another 1.5hrs to get back... and I live in Tower Hamlets!

Also, there was only one water station but as it wasnt a warm day that was fine.

I will try to do it again next year!

In short: Good well organised race, well attended - unfortunately short this year
In full: My second time doing this race, good fun over a reasonable course (and close to home). Nice sunny day made it a good run despite the cold and wind - unfortunately otherwise decent organisation ruined by a short course (probably 9.6 or 9.7km) which has prevented me from getting a "real" PB :-(
