In short: Well organised run and great course In full: Really glad I ran this race. Well organised from start to finish, very scenic course, well marshalled with a special big thanks to the two Marshall's jumping up and down shouting encouragement with Eye of The Tiger blaring out, great work, loved it!
The course is challenging, there is not one individual steep hill just smaller ones but frequent over the distance with enough to make you puff hard. There is a great chance of a PB too although you may feel the back of your calves the next day if aiming for it!
Really quiet country lane course with hardly any traffic, slightly chilly on the day but dry, would be a challenge on a windy one. Nice momento at the end of the race and a goody bag too.
Tea and cakes from the village hall for sale as well as a BBQ for hot dogs etc at the end.
Well done to all involved in organising this race, I had a great time.
In short: Well organised event, the only problem could be January weather In full: A very nice, community-feeling event. Lots of marshalls, some scenery (riverfront was unexpected), very quiet roads - well, it is Norfolk after all. The weather was quite peaceful in 2011, no complaints. A souvenir in the goody bag is perhaps not in the best taste, unless you like keeping cast models of trainers in a display cabinet. Overall - a fairly pleasant way to spend a Sunday in January. In short: Could not smiling, after completing my first race in 22 years. In full: Fab race, atmosphere spectacular and a great way to restart serious running after 22 years!!! Beats smoking any day of the week. Date of review: January 30, 2011
In short: My favourite race of the year! In full: The marshals were fantastic, the support was great and they even provided some uplifting music at a vital point of the race to keep you going. I have to also say that the goody bag was top notch and the trophies looked fantastic again. Date of review: January 30, 2011
In short: Good experience In full: Marshals were great- a cut above the rest with pumping beats blasted out just when you needed it, fabulous dancing and lots of encouragement. Beautifully organised, can't recommend highly enough if you're looking for a step between 10k and a half marathon. Date of review: January 30, 2011
In short: Nice route but awful weather. In full: Parking a problem if arriving with less than 30 to 40 minutes before race. Car park area was full, wasted about 10 minutes in a queue before parking on side of road.
Friendly sign-up team. Marshalls were mostly friendly.
Route was pretty good with some ups and downs to get the heart rate up a bit.
Will consider for next year, providing the weather is better!
Overall: nice people, nice route - not bad! Date of review: March 23, 2010
In short: Great Race - Awful Weather!! In full: Communication regarding the rescheduled date was fine. Wet, windy and muddy on the actual day but a good atmosphere. Good marshalls and great memento! I guess the problems with the muddy car park couldn't be helped - just glad there was 4x4's and lots of helping hands to get us unstuck!!! Will be back next year! Date of review: March 1, 2010
