In short: Proper hard but cosy pub in winter friendly In full: That was proper hard but the atmosphere was like a cosy pub in winter. I did get lost a few times but hey, lovely places to get lost in. I hadn't thought of that way before, I've just increased the value grading :-) Date of review: October 11, 2016
In short: Great course and organisation - shame it's the last one! In full: Spurred on by a friend who's raced this a few times, I entered my first trail race (and only second marathon) with some nervousness. I enjoyed myself much more than I had thought possible: a varied and spectacular route, though surprisingly tough in parts. A very friendly crowd were quite chatty throughout. Very well-organised with plenty of water and sweet stops. Although this was the last Greensand Marathon, I will definitely check out other Trionium events. Date of review: October 11, 2016
In short: Just run the way races should be! Another Trionium success. Thank you Rob! In full: Love the warm welcome from organisers and fellow runners. Love the national anthem at the beginning. Love the simplicity, the scenery, the challenge, the medal, the goodies, the t-shirt, the mug and especially the complimentary fried breakfast. Just a shame its the last one. But dont dispair the Leith Half is the same course as the Greensands Half! See you in March! Date of review: October 10, 2016
In short: Always my favourite marathon every year In full: I have run and marshalled this race for a number of years. Every year it is different. This year there was more tape than any year, easy to follow, even though some had been torn down. The weather was perfect. If I could do only one race per year this was the one that I put my name down for, even when my knee was knackered ( marshalled in the pouring rain still enjoyed it). Happy days !!! great route, excellent pre race email giving me all the information I needed before the run. Thank you Rob, all marshals and all the helpers and volunteers for giving up their spare time and making this a great race. See you all at the midsummer munro. Date of review: October 10, 2016
In short: Great half marathon shame it's the last race In full: Very enjoyable race, lots of challenging hills, lovely views on top of Leith Hill. A shame it's the last marathon and half marathon. Nice medal, mug, and t-shirt at the end and crooked breakfast. Thanks to Dr Rob for organising it. Date of review: October 10, 2016
In short: Huge thanks to Rob for creating and organising the race, sad to see it go hopefully someone will step in & take over, thank you to all the volunteer marshalls Date of review: October 10, 2016
In short: A gem of a race and I'm gutted to see it go In full: This race is an absolute gem that over the years has attracted Olympic elites and those looking for their first marathon experience and it has never disappointed.
It has to be one of the smiliest, happiest races ever. I've done loads of Robs races over the years and the format is great - beautiful trails, challenging but not impossible, friendly runners, great marshals, well stocked water stations and the best custom bling at the end. I'll miss this event very much. If you get a chance to do one of his other races then do it. Date of review: October 10, 2016
