In short: My fourth time out and a great race every time.
In full: Wet a muddy this year but times were faster than usual so didn't seem to slow anyone down.

In short: Fantastic race
In full: This was my first Greensand Marathon. I'm a relative trail running novice despite my previous 8 marathons, but this puts other marathons to shame. Superbly organised, loved the litte touches like the name on the number, free tea & coffee, swimming, Olympic torch, breakfast afterwards and excellent facilities. Friendly atmosphere, marshalls few and far between understandly for a course like this, however, the course was well marked out except for a few places, this was only noticeable because how well it was marked in other areas. I was a little concerned at the time but there was no need, just keep running!! Marshalls always so encouraging and friendly, much appreciated. Course was very challenging but flew by due to the scenic route and more importnat things to concentrate on plus great momentos at the finish, this is a must for serious marathoners and those seeking a challenge. This has encouraged me to do more trail runs, in prep for next year. well done Dr Rob, see you then

In short: Hilly, scenic, achy legs following day!
In full: This is a great race, a real challenge, don't underestimate those hills. I have done many ultras this was one of the toughest, but well worth the effort. Very moving waiting at start singing Jerusalem, great views on a fine to take your mind off the pain. Cooked breakfast to finish with. Good organisation, friendly marshals and a great Dr Rob. Roll on 2013.

In short: A tough race, but very rewarding and lovely scenery
In full: Dr Rob, the race director runs the event like clockwork, everyone singing 'Jerusalem,' before starting off creates a very friendly atmosphere, all the marshals on the way round were jolly and supportive and to top everything off there is a full English breakfast for all runners included in the entry fee.

Ran it in 2011 and 2012, will be back again in 2013 and would highly recommend it to any runner looking for a challenging marathon course.

In full: I've done over 20 marathons and ultras and this was one of the best. It is obviously hard, I measured 3,200 feet of ascent on my Garmin, and was very muddy, but running off road is so much more interesting than a big city marathon. If it wasn't for the weather the views would also have been glorious

In short: good fun race, very well organised
In full: thanks to all involved in organising this great race, especially Dr Rob and the marshals. I loved it. There's something for everyone - from those that want a real challenge in 26.2m to those who do it for the goodies at the end with a medal, top (with name on it), and a mug.

In short: Oh what a sense of achievment!
In full: Someone said that when walking/running in thick mud think of it like chocolate cake and then it seems much nicer! Not sure I can quite buy into that one but it was a distracting thought as us band of merry (and despite the terrain and weather we were a merry lot)sloshed and slurped and slipped through the mud, hills, tree roots and anything else the Surrey Hills could throw at us. We battled forth and won! Oh it hurt, oh it was fun and coming through the finishing straight to the whoops and clapping was one of those truly wonderful moments. Thank you as ever to Dr Rob and the wonderful Trionium marshals and team. The sheer zeal and the atmosphere you always garner at all your races and then the goodies at the end make your races the best and stand out from the rest. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all on the Surrey Hills again.
