In short: Need to change a lot to make me sign up again In full: The idea, the name, the distance - all great, I've spent a year waiting for this race since I paid my entry fee.... what a let down.
Wish the clocks went fwd and I missed this run - shoddy from start to finish which spoilt what could have been an amazing event.
Good points - the young marshals were full of encouragement and support throughout... Hard pushed to find a second positive so will have to say the scenery from 8k onwards....
Bad points - unclear indication regarding the travel from finish to start, cost of 'bus service' for runners and spectators (with no checks made for tickets), organisation at the start, incorrect information regarding water stops, no halfway indicator for the 26.2 run, finish was an anti-climax, bags left unsecure for running and spectators to walk around and take whatever they want.... buses - well, the comments from everyone else says all about that, text about time was incorrect and I'm sure that they'll increase the fees for next year - so hopefully they take note of comments and make it a worthwhile run!

In short: Great marshals - thank you. But I'm still cold after waiting 1.5 hours for the bus back! Shambollic! In full: I actually quite enjoyed the race through scenic surroundings, and with friendly marshals. But the wait at the end was horrendous. I was really really cold, stiff, tired and hungry, and left to stand around in mud for an hour before being walked to a cafe for tea/coffee - when my money was in the car, so even that was not forthcoming! Had it been raining I think you would have had serious problems. That's no way to recover from a hard race. I too enjoyed the Nottingham-Derby race in 2010 where things worked smoothly. and - I don't need another T shirt but you did advertise one in the blurb . . . Get a grip! In full: Shocking mis management of transport back from the finish line. I ended up getting a cab back! Everyone was left to freeze after the run no space blankets available or even given to runners that were hanging around for transport to pick them up. Nobody had any answers! UNACCEPTABLE! In short: Without a doubt the worsed organised event I have ever done In full: Enough people have already mentioned the bagagge and bus situation, add to that random pens based on simply colour of your number, so fast runners stuck at the back, a pointless half lap of a track then funnelled into a footpath followed by industrial estate for the first 3-4 miles. Not sure the company behind this, but they clearly do not know how to manage a race! Date of review: October 28, 2012

In short: Change the location, make sure the Finish is the same place and start and might consider it for 2013 In full: Firstly the marshals were great, helpful and enthusiastic on a cold Sunday morning. This summarizes the good things about this race.
The race location for the first 6km was depressing and ugly, and it is ridiculous that this race was not a circuit, ie, you finish in the same location as where you start!!
The bus situation was beyond terrible, a total disaster and mess. Upon being told the bus driver was on a 45 minute break and needed a sandwich, we were advised to walk to the train station to catch the train back to the nearest station to where our car was. What we were failed to be told is that the trains only ran once an hour!! What a surprise, left standing around in the cold, again!
We were lucky enough to jump in a cab with a few people that has called one before we got to the station - thanks to the 4 guys who kindly let us jump a ride, hope you all got home safely (from injured leg man!). The journey back to your car was the most fun of the day!
I was also disappointed to find my bag under 800 others in a wet field with no organisation or respect for my belongings.
PS. Did like the Haribo in the goodie bag!

In short: Very difficult to get to and quite dull In full: I did the Derby/Nottingham one back in 2010 and thought it was very good so was pleased to see a London one - trouble is I entered it before route confirmed so was not expecting it to be were it was. I found it dull and repetative with no support and very tricky to get to (I don't drive so my poor hubby got up to take me)The Marshalls handing out drinks were lovely and the medal was nice although much smaller than the 2010 one and with no year on it not even on the ribbon ! also back in 2010 I got a nice T-shirt included and there was a great finish (lovely food stores) - this felt like a non-event much more like a training run than a race Date of review: October 28, 2012

In short: Pathetic bus organisation ruined what would have been a good race In full: I can remember after the first run, Nottingham to Derby, people complained about the bus service afterwards, well the company has not learnt the lessons. Spoilt the whole day. I waited 1hr 10 min for a bus. Thank goodness the Red cross weent above and beyond their duty, if it wasn't for them you would have many cases of hyperthermia when people were waiting for the imaginary buses. STAY CLEAR OF THIS EVENT UNTIL THEY SORT THE BUS SITUATION OUT Date of review: October 28, 2012

In short: A complete shambles In full: Shuttle buses were infrequent, expensive, and our driver took two wrong turnings. Kit bags were left in an untidy heap in a wet field at the finish. Totally unreasonable queues for the small number of loos. Scenery good from 6K onwards, but the first part of the course through serial industrial estates was completely depressing. Finally the 11K marker was 1.1 MILES after the 10K mark. Date of review: October 28, 2012
