In short: Enjoyed the race, organisation was a let down
In full: Looks like all this has been said already but just to chuck my opinion in....

The race was OK, traffic free roads and a fairly challenging course with some good inclines to negotiate. You could never say Northampton was very aesthetically pleasing though!

Let down by the organisation, the delay to the start, the narrow exit on finishing the race causing a lot of standing about and potential for cramping up. As for the parking... Seemed plenty of it but on arrival nobody seemed to know where I should go and then ended up hanging around for ages at the end waiting for the roads to re-open and then traffic carnage as everyone piled out the same way!

Nice to have a run in Northampton (a former home town) but having travelled a fair distance to take part I'll think twice about doing it again.

In short: I'm sure next year's will be better, fingers crossed!
In full: Good challenging course with plenty of support along the way. Great Marshalls, thank you.
Notes for organisers:
Would have prefered water at the 'water stations'instead of that horrible orange stuff which just made your hands sticky ugh!

The long queue after the finish needs sorting out for next year. Standing around soon leaves you feeling chilled and if it had been wet weather we would all be chilled and ill.

The goody bag could be better too!

As for the delayed start, I think there's enough comments so I won't add mine......

This race has potential to be a truly great event and I look forward to all the improvements at next year's event!

In short: Good course, poor organisation
In full: The organisation was quite terrible. Start was 40 mins late and there's only so much warm up one can do. The goody bag was full of papers, most of these "money off vouchers" in a brochure were expired as well. A banana or a small sweet would have been nice considering that the start was delayed and so was getting out of there as they didn't let the cars out until the end of kids' race! The course itself was alright taking runners through the busiest streets in town so there was quite a lot of cheering around.I think there's a lot of advertising to do for the next time to fill those 2200 places that went in a flash this year.

In short: Course great, needs a lot of sorting out of the finer details
In full: Did a PB so Happy. Goody bag, the only thing kept was the energy gel and rugby ball for the cat, no need for all the paper stuff in it. First water station, not enough people had to stop for twenty seconds to wait for drink, Start we waited an age and the warm up i did had been not worth it as i was cold at the start. good course, friendly people, was the first time Northampton had done a race so not to bad if they iron out a few things, it will be better, like fruit in the goody bag, entertainment was good around the course to, will be back next year, not bad for a first time effort, well done Northampton. get the football club to put somat in the goody bag, come on Mr Cordoza.

In short: Much was promised but disappointingly did not deliver!
In full: The course in it's self was fine but the lengthy delay at the start with no audible explanation was not good. The bottle neck at the end was also another problem. It was chaotic. The goody bag wasn't. Why promise all of these things then not deliver? This run has been hyped for months and sadly was a disappointment. On the good side the music in the market and the drummers further along towards the finish lifted my spirits. Sadly this did not begin to make up for the chaotic organisation.

In short: Good 1st Effort
In full: Lots of people complaining about the organisation but really this was the first Northamton race and they did pretty good, yea it needs improving for next time but i cannot complain. plus it's in my home town so not going to slag it off too much, my wife and her sister did it and we all enjoyed it which is the main thing :)

In short: For an inaugral event, this was a good start.
In full: Appreciate that there were parking problems, and other traffic issues but felt especially as it was a pleasant day the right thing was to delay the start to sort these out.
The PA does need to be more audible and I'm not interested in a highly detailed course description.
The removal of chips and handing out of goody bags could have been better handled.
If I've paid £10 to enter a race I don't expect a lot in the the goody bag.
The course was very good, could be improved to remove the small final dog-leg but that's being picky.
The on-course marshalling and support was similarly very good.
Overall the buzz and vibrant atmosphere made up for some of the small details.
