In short: seventh year and gets better everytime In full: excellent organisation as usual, the Marshalls are simply the best so cheerful. The interaction with the other runners makes it a very special race and will be back next year for number 8 Date of review: June 16, 2015
In short: great race to marshal In full: I never get tired seeing inspiration in front of my very eyes when these events take place - everyone was brilliant , faced their demons and came away bigger and better for the challenges they overcame - amazing !! Date of review: June 15, 2015
In short: Hill running or stair climbing ? In full: I prepared for this by hill running, I should have maybe done some sprints up and down my stairs at home - never anticipated such brutal steps, but this only added to a huge sense of achievement at the end.
Really well run, apart from the bottleneck at the start, loads of fuel stations, beautiful scenery, great marshals, and welcoming for runners of all levels.
Highly recommended, one of the best races I've run, can't wait until the full version next year. Date of review: June 15, 2015
In short: Have fun getting a Personal Worst Time In full: Anyone looking for a Pancake Flat course will be happy with the last 10 meters. Outside of that is either up, down or intense concentration to check where you have to plant your feet.
The race itself is a 'must do' simply to experience the atmosphere and the toughness of the course. It is well marshalled with plenty of aid stations and a unique T shirt and medal for finishers. I liked the small touch of having all entrants names printed on the T shirt.
Thanks to Dr Rob for a unique and challenging event.
I do hope that the runners on the start line that had never run a Half Marathon before, managed to complete the course and are not put off for life! Date of review: June 15, 2015
