In short: Hilly, Hot and Hard
In full: Great Organisation, Thank you Isdall School Staff and Students. Pitty my Achilles decided to go pop which made a personal worst time and humilliation of being third from last. However that as side, The Marshalls were exeptional. I want to return next year just to get a better time.

In short: Well organised and a lovely route!
In full: Lovely scenic route and extremely well organised! I will be entering again next year.

Like others have said its a shame that more don't enter this event! Many of my friends were put off by the word 'steeplechase' which is a real shame, maybe dropping that scary word from the event title would make it more inviting to others?

In short: Great race, well organised, lovely scenery, great fun!
In full: A very well organised race, lots of marshalls on the route and water stops every two miles which was really welcome on a hot day! The route is lovely, lots of nice lanes and some off-road through fields and woods...definitely in the calender for 2011!!

In short: Glorious scenery, good mix of surfaces and nicely marshalled.
In full: A nicely understated race, run along very quiet country roads with marshals at all the important bits (other than, if I was being picky, one small gate late on just after a downhill where it would have been nice to have someone there to keep it open for runners, but all part of the fun). The atmosphere is lovely, and that despite me having a lonely run from 7 miles onwards. Organisation great, and it's challenging - no huge hills, but undulating enough to give you pause. My garmin can throw a wobbly but today agreed with every mile marker, and they just 'felt' right, more importantly, which is a nice touch in a race that attracted fewer than 200 runners. I hope there'll be many more next year - you're missing out if you can get to this and haven't been yet!

In short: Lovely Half Marathon that tests your mettle
In full: I ran this as my first HM last year and could only remember the uphill bits because it is a testing course for someone looking to get a good time. Came back this time round to see if I could better my performance and knocked about 28 seconds off, so it does have PB potential.
The organisation is excellent and value for money is exceptional as I ran the Shifnal 10K in January and got discounted entry. I would recommend this to anyone, if this is your first HM, be realistic about your projected finish time and you'll enjoy it. The only down side and this is nothing to do with the race is that it really deserves more support. I would say there was up to 200 runners today and it would be nice to see some more out supporting the work of the school and the committee in raising money for a local hospice. Keep up the good work, it is a very good event.

In short: nice rural run with several challenging hills, very well organised
In full: this was my 2nd half marathon and i really enjoyed the change from complete road running, even though a little more difficult, with a slightly slowler finish. Pretty much faultless organisation, loads of water stations, marshalls along the course were supportive. being a local was nice to have support from friends and family during the route. i would recommend this to others and will definately be back next year

Well done Idsall School for organizing a great run.

In short: Organiser responded helpfully emails and the organisation on the day was amazing: no chance of getting lost, lots of water stations, offers of First Aid stations and really encouraging marshals. The photographs made available free are brilliant – hi
In full: The Shifnal Steeplechase was my very first competitive run although I happen to use most of the route for leisure running. At 57 years I was happy to finish (190th of 205) in 2:20. The organiser responded helpfully to earlier emails and the organisation on the day was amazing: no chance of getting lost, lots of water stations, offers of First Aid stations at a couple of points and really encouraging marshals. The photographs made available free also have pride of place on my desktop at the moment (sad or what?) – high resolution and superbly taken.

In short: Ticks all the boxes for me!!!
In full: I've run quite a few Half-Marathons now, so when I look for future races I look for one that's a bit different, that I haven't run before, that has a smaller sized field, that's got a bit of everything (road, field, track etc) and the Shifnal Half ticked all the boxes for me! Pretty much faultless organisation, loads of water stations, decent medal, fruit and water at the finish and good support. And Bryan from http://www.racephotos.org.uk who takes your picture and sends it to you FOR FREE!

I ran with an injury to both legs - I really shouldn't have gone through with it - but I'll be back next year "pain free".

In short: Shifnal Half Marathon - Hilly But Well Organised
In full: First time doing this race, and its not a PB course, but if your looking for a nice summer rurla run, on mostly traffic free roads, and lovely Shropshire Sceanry then this is for you.

Well orgaised and a good finish area at a local school, and an intresting town center start. Not many spectators, but its a small town!

Plenty of water stations ever two miles, and staffed by some of the most supportive people I have ever seen.

Will be back next year, more aware of the challenge ahead.
