In short: Fantastic Race only in it's second year
In full: Very well organized race, plenty of water stations with bananas, energy gels, sweets and biscuits available. Varied terrain and fantastic views it felt like a very personal race. Some of the trail parts of the race required single file but this helps you keep a steady pace with enough places to overtake other runners. Highly recommended race for the future.

In short: Brrr - if only the wind was there to push you along
In full: Yes it was cold (it is December) - made worst by the wind - especially the last 2 miles.

Flat race - east route to follow, some nice views of the harbour and the Isle of Wight.

Nice goodie bag - wasn't expecting a T-shirt - gels and bananas at most water stations - all well stocked.

Nice end to the year - be back again next year - hopefully quicker

In short: No hills, but plenty of wind.
In full: Interesting mix of terrain. Was icey for the first half. The challenge of the wind more than made up for the lack of hills.
I used the race to experiment with pacing. Avoided the wall completely and made the last mile my fastest even into a headwind. Great day out.

In short: Great course and friendly race.
In full: Loved the course with a mix of terrains and on a day with less wind/rain could probably get a pb. Great support from marshalls and plenty of them along the course. 5 mile marker seemed a bit early but that aside, very well organised.

In short: It could be really fast on a calm sunny day with maybe only half as much mud...
In full: Very well organised. The use of the Pyramid centre is definitely a big improvement, especially given the weather conditions.

No idea how I managed to miss the soup...

My fellow passengers on the train home would have benefited from me having a shower after the race, but at a ratio of 1 shower for 773 runners I decided that the rain was wet enough.
