In short: Excellent run out! In full: This event was well worth getting up for - route was a quick one - mixture of runners from club to beginners - nice medal and freebies at end. Best thing was the amount of marshalls on route and the encouragemnet. My GPS was bang on 10K aswell - so new PB for me!! Date of review: December 5, 2011
In short: Well organised race! In full: I enjoyed this race very much, what could have been a bit of a flat fast course was made an extra bit challenging by the 2k of wet, muddy, slippery towpath from 3k to 5k. Personally, this made the race more challenging for me which I enjoyed.
Warm up was good, MC was great, many, many marshalls, especially along the main road which was a pleasant surprise!
Chocs, bananas, water and medal at the end, overall, only MINOR niggle was that, myself, my husband and my friend all (on our different GPS systems) had the race between 10.2 and 10.3k. Date of review: December 5, 2011
In short: Good solid well organised race, at a time that not much is going on! In full: Yes there weren't enough toilets, meant you had to wait a little. Really no big deal and this happens at pretty much every race I run so harsh to highlight this on the feedback. Enjoyable race with great freebies at the end, easy to get number and chip at the start. lead cyclist was very cheerful both at the start and at the finish. Strangly hardly any club runners at the event, mayb edue to womens surrey cross country the day before but I think there will be more as this event grows. Good race, well worth doing Date of review: December 4, 2011
In short: well organized event In full: race was a well organised event from start to finish. Very friendly and venue was beautiful on the riverside. nice medal and loads of goodies at the end. Got a best time for 10K. Well done to all involved. Date of review: December 4, 2011
In short: Slick organized 10K event In full: All in all was very impressed by the slick organisation - easy timing chip and bag drop off, loved the pre race speech by the MC - like the one when he called all the sub 30 runners - hilarious. flat and fast course with encouraging marshalls. Results up straight away, will be back next year. Date of review: December 4, 2011
In short: Small, flat and fast. In full: Organisationally, chaos before the start. Not enough toilet facilities. Bag drop, chip pick up both in same tiny room. Race itself was good. Big group warm up, started by expected finish time and nice number of runners (~600). Route was a mixed bag, bit suburban to start , a long muddy riverside stretch dodging cyclists then main road back, lots of marshals plus loads of free snacks and drinks at the finish. Results were up within 15 mins too. Date of review: December 4, 2011
In short: A beautiful run by the river In full: The Hawker Centre lends itself to be a great race HQ. The route is completely delightful with about half of the race along the Thames, which is why I love this race.
I was unable to compete last year due to injury and I loved being able to take part today.
The organisation was good and the marshalls were very encouraging, all the way around the course.
Any race along the Thames is delightful and this takes in a particularly beautiful section. Date of review: June 5, 2011
