In short: Surprisingly scenic, terrifically well organised. In full: As other reviewers have mentioned, the heat was a massive issue. But I like the May date - October is packed with local halves for me (Leicester/Kenilworth), so I like the date.
Organisation brilliant, car parking was very easy (although to be fair I knew where to go), support fabulous throughout and the course, to someone who has never seen anything but the city centre, was great, some really nice areas and the run through the park towards the end was great.
Many thanks to all involved in putting this event on - I'll be back for sure and will recommend it to people in my club and friends. Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: May we have it in october please? In full: As usual, a very well organised race. Toilets especially are a bonus, no need to queue for 30mins with a bursting bladder. Bit tight with having to buy a T-Shirt though, surely the registration fee can stretch to include this. More importantly, why the change from October? I know it was an extremely hot one today, but May is always likely to produce warmer weather. Mind you, as there was no date printed on the medal (come on Cov, stop cutting corners), I can always pen in 'October 2010' on the ribbon... Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: Great vibe, lots of support from the citizens of Coventry In full: This was my second Half Marathon, the last one also being the Cov Half. Because of the heat, I found it a lot more challenging then my first time, but the crowds and support were terrific. The frequent water stations were good, though I could have done with more!! The cheering squad and music were brilliant, and really gave me the boost I needed to finish strong. I knocked 7 minutes off my first half marathon time, so I considered it a good race.I would do this again, but maybe in October, when the weather is cooler. Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: A pleasant way to spent the day In full: A good race, on an incredibly warm day! Really good organisation from the outset, and a pretty decent course (with a few nice hilly sections). Plenty of water stops around the course - which came as blessed relief on such a warm day! Great support throughout - the people of Coventry turned out in force to cheer (although the lure of a morning spent sitting in the sunshine wouldn't have hurt!) Hats off to the cheerleaders too, they were in excellent voice! Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: My first half marathon : hot and hilly In full: Journey and car parking was easy. Well organised race with good marshals and lots of encouragement from the people of Coventry. I'm quite slow and people were still clapping and cheering by the time I got around! Lots of support all round which was very welcome. Finish was good and there was even help at the end to remove the timing chip from my shoe - from a very charming 7 year old volunteer. I enjoyed it despite the undulations and hills (2 at around mile 5 and 9) - and the heat - 27 degrees! Date of review: May 23, 2010

In short: hot and hilly In full: fair enough except attempting to find car parking was a nightmare. The heat was tough as was were the hills. Got a pb but missed my target by 1 min 10 secs. Some nice touches like the bbc cheer section, plenty of drinks and support-even cheese and pineapple if you wanted. Date of review: May 23, 2010
