In short: Great Race, Great First Marathon PB!!!
In full: From start to finish this was well organised, well supported and a real enjoyable race to have taken part in. Only one complaint starting on the soaking wet racecourse was not pleasant as your feet were soaking before you had begun! But you cant blame the organisers for our horrible weather. All in all a great day.

In short: An excellent marathon, well organised, scenic & friendly
In full: I have done quite a few marathons around the world; this one had a good feeling. I particularly enjoyed how easy it was at the start - no fuss getting belongings into the baggage area etc, so an unstressful start. Runs through some nice villages - v picturesque - cant say I thought any of it was rough or ugly. I got a PB so the few hills couldnt have been too much of an obstacle!

In short: Friendly and very well organised I would definitely consider running it again
In full: Having already run a few marathons I was very impressed with the organisation here. It was easy to park at the start and there were plenty of toilets (and volunteers were on hand to top up the toilet roll). The drinks were handed out in bottles and there were plenty of them - as a slower runner I have got to drinks stations in other marathons only to find out that the drinks have run out. The scenery is beautiful and the support was good given the closed roads and rural location. I was also pleased with the goody bag - so often you end up getting samples of compede blister plasters and weird food supplements which I end up putting in the bin - at least in this one I got food I (or my husband) would actually eat.
It's the little things that make the difference and Andy and Chris and all the marshals got the little things right making it a really enjoyable race. I would definitely consider entering again.

In short: First time marathon, extremely impressive organisation, fast course
In full: This was my first marathon and the organisation was so well done that I felt like an old-stager. Everything was well laid out in the tented village, start and finish lines were easy to find and positioned well and there were plenty of toilets and other facilities such as food etc.

The course is set in very beautiful countryside, mostly flat, but there are a couple of climbs near the end which add a bit of spice. Still, I was happy to get under four hours in my first marathon. Support all around the course was excellent especially given the rural location. Everything was so smooth that I would certainly do it all again. Well done Andy and Chris.

In short: Well organised and scenic
In full: Both water and isotonic drinks were in bottles - much better than cups. The bins at each mile post were also very handy - not everyone takes just one sip at each station! (First marathon for me - so a PB!)

In short: Faultless organisation and a great race
In full: Everything just works at this event - the pre-race info, the race day set-up, support along the way and the route itself. It's not absolutely flat and there are a couple of hills to make you work but whether you are after a PB course or just a great race in a great city then it would be hard to beat this one.
