In short: well done to the organisers - defenately recommended
In full: A really good route with the potential of being very fast. The only downside is the lack of spectators to pull you through the pain.

In short: excellent event, well organsed
In full: This event was excellently organised and run smoothly - not an easy task for a run involving roads and paths open to the public. Support from the marshals and spectators was brilliant, especially in the village we went through. The bridge over the motorway came a bit of a shock, but at least we knew what to expect on the way back! A couple of very minor points - ideally there could have been more signage for changing rooms etc and it would have been helpful to have a secure baggage area, but these are minor areas for improvement on what was a very competently run event.

In short: Fantastic organisation and great stewards
In full: Regular water stations were well spaced for a warm day. Stewards before, during and post race were all encouraging (some really helped drive you on). Flat for the most part, but some long gentle (but does not feel it!) climbs as you approach the end with 24-26 relatively steep for tired legs. Loved it! Hopefully numbers will not increase too much as the greenway could become crowded.

In short: A good effort for a first...
In full: A nice friendly atmosphere. Not many views but pretty flat for much of the 26 miles apart from the last 2 which wasn't ideal!

My only disappointment, having finished well within 5 hours, was that there were no more XL shirts to hand out! It is time that event organisers realise that there are many runners with large or very large physiques who are running marathons these days. We've paid our money like everyone else and deserve a momento that fits rather than the leftovers!!

Otherwise it was a super race well worth the 400 mile round trip.

In full: Well done to the organizers a great deal of effort went into it and it showede with the many good comments abfew points that may make it better the number pick up the day before was very low key and didnt see the need to trot over a rugby pitch to get your number hope if the weather was bad you could use the club some handouts with route and spectator advice would have been helpfull the course was boring but without the need for road closures was fine, this is the only marathon i can think of where there is no provision for secure baggage to be left.
A couple of gripes but a big well done to the organizers

In short: Very impressed - will definitely do again
In full: V well organised, excellent venue. Enjoyable race and well supported with very enthusiastic and supportive locals/marshalls. Good grandstand finish. Quality medal and T-shirt.

Will seriously consider this again for next year. Good to have a well organised race in the Northwest.
