In short: Awesome first marathon experience, brilliant!
In full: My first marathon and I'm as chuffed as mint balls with the whole experience. The weather was a little daunting the night before and I was worried the start would be a bit wet underfoot and I would have to run 26.2 miles with wet feet. It turned out ok, and obviously the race course is well maintained so the ground was still firm. I found there was hardly any bunching at the start of the race and it was never crowded (I was near the back though!). The support was brilliant - all the way round there were great crowds cheering you on. I thought the water stations were also excellent, apart from the bin lids not being put up which meant most runners just chucked the bottles - small comment, not even a gripe! Best water station was one of the end ones managed by an under 11's football team who thought it was hilarious to squirt the runners with isotonic drinks....I laughed, but then again, I didn't get sticky...Coming back into the race course was brilliant, so much space for people to be there to cheer you on the last spurt. I loved it. Will deffo be going back next year. I've got a personal best to beat now...

In short: A great marathon - I expect to be back next year.
In full: Everything about the organisation of this race was well done, starting from the friendly emails that I got at intervals from when I entered to the incredibly smooth way that the finish area way organised. A really nice place to run a marathon. And yes, there is a hill coming back into the city but over the course of 26 miles, I don't think that is too bad. It is still a flat course.

In short: First full marathon glad I chose it.
In full: Glad I chose this and not Liverpool who decided to have theirs on the same date! Fab day that I will never forget. Only suprise is that it is advertised as flat. I usually run in Yorkshire where there are hills in every race and the bit towards the end where most people were walking looked like a hill to me!

In full: Surprising that this event is only in year 2? It's that good, everything went like clockwork (aside from my race) from start to finish, the support on the course was excellent, many thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement it really helped (although there are some lonely stretches, harder then I imagined but well worth running, well done to the organiser, volunteers, running clubs, cadets and everyone else who made this such a great event.

In short: Well organised, great support, great course
In full: Marathon number 11 done and this is up with Dublin as one of my favourites. The race isn't cheap but for your money you get a very well organised race both before, during, and after, a pretty scenic race, great support from many hundreds of spectators along the course, a decent medal, goody bag, and t-shirt! I really enjoyed this perhaps because I set a new personal best by 11 minutes but I could highly recommend this race again. It was the little things that made a huge difference such as having your name on the front of your bib number. This meant especially in the final stages you got great support to spur you on. Well done to the organisers.
