In short: Friendly race in great surroundings
In full: An excellently organised and very friendly race in a beautiful place. The course is a great mix of terrain and profile, with suitably challenging hills. Slight niggle - it's not actually 10k, but rather 9.29k (as the Garmin profile actually shows). Doesn't take from the enjoyment, but it seems as though the course could be 10k with a detour or two.

In short: Tough climbs, beautiful views, friendly runners
In full: My 3rd 10k race since I started running in April and a real challenge. I had been warned to expect hills and there were plenty! Three significant climbs (up St Martha's Hill twice and Newland's Corner once) along with some smaller, steep hills to contend with. Not convinced by the claimed 10k distance (my GPS said 9.3k). Fairly well organised, nice people running and enough of a challenge to make getting up early on a Saturday morning worth it.

In short: Toughest race I've done but really satisfying and the views are worth it
In full: The course is focused around 2 big hills that are very steep. You start by climbing for about 2.5km on mud (it didn't help that it had rained the day before). The second climb is shorter but steeper and on sand. At some points the terrain means that even if you have the energy to run up the hills you can barely get above walking pace.

The views at the top of each hill are breathtaking.

A time of 50 minutes was better than I'd expected but I'm going to have to do it again to see if I can run the whole thing. Recommended.

In short: Gruelling but deeply satisying
In full: Takes you out of your comfort zone with really tough hills but glorious off road trail that will definitely see me back next year

In short: hard as nails obviously! but actually a ilttle easier than their g3 series
In full: lovely all off-road course with 3 killer hills. i thought the g3 was a little harder as it's the same hills but with an uphill finish. the downhill finish in this race is something to look forward too. i'll be back.

In short: Lung Busting
In full: This was my first off road event, and my first with anything like the kind of hills the course has. It's tough, but once the (extremely serious) elites head off into the distance it was a fun race full of supportive runners (and marshalls). It was only 9.3k by my Garmin, which I was very glad of by the end, but was a bit of a surprise, and they could have done with more water being available at the finish, but a great morning out. I'll be back next year.

In full: This is a great course. I enjoyed it and improved on my 2009 time by 9 minutes (that's no typo). I thought the start and finish swaps from last years race was a bit mad though, didn't see anyone fall on the last 500m but bet it happened because there was heavy competiton for the first 30 places. IMO - should start the race on that hill not finish on it. Superb nonetheless.

In short: Good to get the lungs going on a Saturday morning
In full: The hills are a decent test of stamina and the fact that some of the ascents are on loose sand makes it a great challenge. Forget a PB though!
