In short: Still one of my favourites In full: Excellent organisation, fantastic atmosphere, breathtaking scenery.
Disagree with earlier posts about cars. In fact at one point I thought NFMA must have closed down the New Forest entirely! Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: First half post small people, not so much hilly as gentle upward incline throughout. Lovely scenery tho', detracted from the pain. Got a better time than expected so I was happy! Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: This was my first race and with hindsight the hills were alittle tough. But the sence of achievement upon finishing was not to be missed. Only thing that spoilt it for me was the first drinks station couldn't cope with the amount of runners. In full: It hasn't put me off and i'll carry on running. Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: nice traipse through the New Forest In full: Cars in the running lane at certain points aside, I felt the NFMA did a good job with the course. Only mild irritants were the cars and a bit of single-file at around the 11-mile mark where a dog-walker had two big hounds glowering at us as we attempted to avoid the brambles. Sunny weather and good scenery throughout, especially the heathlands!! Worth doing, all in all. And hey, no one would argue with a PB. :-) Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: Beautiful few miles from 3-7, lovely sunny day and great support! In full: Great organisation, loads of water and sponge stops, and a baggage store which worked really well with a little help from the military! Lovely views across the New Forest. Thanks to all the supporters, and the boy doing a much appreciated job with the water hose in the late stages. Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: A bit hillier than I was expecting! In full: The organisation was amazing, and I've never seen so many water/sponge stations on a half course, which considering the heat yesterday were much appreciated!
The course was slightly tougher than I was expecting, but managed to finish pretty much on my predicted time, which meant a PB for me on an undulating course. Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: A hilly race, very well organised In full: It was my first HM and I found the hills went on a bit especially at the end when based on the race profile, I was expecting a downhill. Found the markers at the end a bit elusive : could there be a countdown on the last mile: as I had never run the course before and had missed the last marker, I wasn't sure when to start pushing for the finish. Agree that 1st water station should be twice the size (didn't even bother to stop on that one as too crowded) and that New Milton is not the best the New Forest has to offer (to put it mildly). A great big thank you to all the organisers, marshalls, water/sponge handlers and encouraging spectators. Date of review: September 19, 2005
