In short: My first 10k. Very enjoyable & managed to run the whole way! In full: As a newcomer I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Felt race was well organised and look forward to doing it again next year. Have now got the bug! thank you. Date of review: February 5, 2006
In short: Average Race. Online entrants were penalised for entering online In full: One to be aware of nest year, was unaware when I entered online that I would have to collect my number on the day, this is very unusual as I have entered loads of races online and this is the first time, I have been asked to collect the number on the day. Entering online is supposed to make things easier and having to collect your number on the day isn't easy. It was lucky that there were no entries on the day otherwise this would have been even more confusing.
Course was good and clearly marked throughout on a Traffic Free course, marshalls were there but most didn't say anything or direct you. KM markers were all there. One slight hill at 7k other than that the rest of the race was undualting.
My Garmin 301 made the course 10.2KM, this doesn't mean the course was over length but just mentioning it.
Last little quirk is that the cars are parked in a field which cars the course crosses so cars can't leave until all runners are home, this can delay you leaving for some time.
I received no email or race information as I entered online so was unaware of what was expected this would have been more of a problem if this was my first race.
I might do this one again. Date of review: February 5, 2006
In short: Nice Scenery, Good Course In full: I travelled for 2 hours from North Essex for this one, and thoroughly enjoyed my day. I must admit I am not happy with the way online entries are handled as we are charged £2 more and did have to collect on the, and I was given a hand written number! (No.9). The course was fast, with all roads closed to traffic, and only one hill, but it was long and steepish. Was disappointed to see some cars being allowed to leave the car park before the last runner is back though. This is wrong, if people want to park their cars in the car park provided they chould wait until all competitors are finished. But I got a pb, and will be back next year. In short: Excellant orginization, really injoyed it In full: I entered online and my whole morning went like clockwork. Whilst being a plodder i found myself towards the back of the pack and the encouragement from all the marshalls and also other runners was brills.it was a really nice touch that when coming over the finish line the end marshalls made an effort to say my name. Thanks A@D running club for giving up there sunday morning for a nice race. Date of review: February 5, 2006
In short: Verty enjoyable morning out. In full: I can understand the two people (so far) who have posted about their confusion with respect to receiving their numbers in the post.
I pannicked on Friday night as I was looking at the previous version of the race information and could see nothing about online entries. However, a quick trawl through my e-mail inbox to the last e-mail sent out shows an inserted line about how online entrants would pick up their numbers from the desk on the day. As I had already printed out what looked like the same race instructions previously, upon receipt of the last e-mail, I had assumed we were being sent the same info again...
I have to say, that the e-mail to which this was attached made no reference to the fact this detail had been inserted, so in that respect, yes, a tad confusing. As the race organisers are dealing with online entrants for the first time, I am sure next year it will be "crystal" to everyone. :-)
Aside from that, very enjoyable and in friendly company.

In short: A very pleasant start to the racing season for me. Good course and only one challenging hill! In full: For all those that have complained, I suggest they read their emails closer next time. It clearly stated that online entrants should pick up their number at the registration desk on the day of the race!
This worked like clockwork - well it did for those of us than can read!!
Not only did you waste your registration fees you have made yourselves look foolish for complaining when the organisers are at fault! Date of review: February 5, 2006
