In short: Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful In full: My first marathon. Loved it from start to finish what with the organisation, the scenery and the fantastic support from the crowds. The afterglow from this one will sustain me for quite some time. Date of review: October 3, 2005
In short: This race is brilliant! In full: Beautiful scenery, great organisation, course is hard work but really satisfying. Can't fault the whole weekend, absolutely fantastic (big PB helps)-accommodation booked for next year already. Big thanks to the organisers! Date of review: October 3, 2005
In short: First ever marathon if the rest are organised as well as this I've been converted In full: Fantastic views, friendly runners, so very well organised, marshalls deserve a pat on the back, few spectators but those who made the effort were greatfully received by everyone and to top it off started with a pipe band with a lone piper around half way. Thankyou Inverness i'm already looking forward to next year. Who needs city/town marathons! Date of review: October 3, 2005
In short: My first marathon, absolutely superb in all respects. In full: I had a fantastic day. Two or three steep hills but there was a few miles in the middle which were flatish. The scenery is fabulous, mountains and lochs and forests all in one. The few supporters along the way were very enthusiastic. Organisation was tremendous. An excellent goody bag, high quality t-shirt and hot showers! What more can you ask for! Forget the city marathons, being dropped off in the middle of nowhere and left to head back to civilisation and a fantastic reception is my kind of race!
In short: Good 'un really enjoyed it.... (Aye okay maybe "enjoyed" isn't the right word but you know what I mean!). Scenery would be even better if they cut down all the trees to give you a view of the loch.... Date of review: October 3, 2005
In short: first time in this event, and loved it....one of the best ive ever ran,if not the toughest.. In full: found the downhills harder than the uphills, loved the scenery....never saw nessie, but what i did see was a very well organised event, and will be back.. Date of review: October 3, 2005
In short: Fabulous event. From start to finish, simply a glorious race. Staggering scenery, fantastic organisation, wonderful people! In full: Fifth marathon in a year, first time here. Great location for a marathon. Big city races are all well and good, but this is quite simply extraordinary! I should have run slower so that I could have taken in more of the sights. The course is in excellent condition, with the vast majority being fast flat or downhill good quality road. The rest is tough hills (again road), that are mostly short steep wee b****rs, but one long hill that is a bit harder. Mind you, they all have downhills as well!! Good support from the local communities along the way, especially once you get back into Inverness. Cracking t-shirt and goody-bag (shame there was no beetroot this year!!) and a free BBQ at the end as well. Fantastic value for money in my book. Hopefully injury free next year and I'll go for the sub3. Well done BLNM organisers! Date of review: October 3, 2005
