In short: Well organsied and ideal training run
In full: Like its Autumn companion, this is an ideal organised training run for those in marathon training. The course is excellent, with the bit round the airfield reasonably flat and spacious allowing the field to spread before the road section and quite a lot of the race on scenic quite country lanes. The drivers, even on the main road were pretty courteous (though I may just have been lucky). The parking is ample and well organised and having it so close to the start is ideal. Directions and signposting to the start had been improved vs the Autumn. Marshalling and water/ gel stations were well organised, friendly and enthusiastic. Could have done with just a couple more toilets as the queue was quite long and I know that some people missed the start but that would be a matter of just another 3 or 4 units. I also thought that the course was slightly short (19.89 miles) but that is within the margin of error for a Garmin so I may have been wrong on that and in any case doesn't really matter as this isn't a "standard" distance anyway.

In short: Better than last year, despite the weather!
In full: Two lap course, each lap consisiting of a 3 mile stretch around the perimeter of Dunsfold Airfield, followed by seven miles of undulating Surrey countryside. Very well organised and excellent marshalling. Nice choc bar, ribena and medal at the end....a t-shirt would be nice. This event was exactly right for me in terms of course and facilities and very good prep if you plan to be running an April marathon. My garmin only measured 19.88 miles though.

In short: Such fun
In full: This was my second year of running and this year was even better than last. The addition of Gels was a much welcome inclusion and these really helped push me round, especially at the 17 mile mark.

The move of the start was a great idea as the mass of runners started to thin out at the 3 mile point moving onto the road and there was no squash to move into single file as was experienced last year.

I've never been a hill runner and know to improve my time for next year this is something i'll have to work on! 90 minutes of football on the Saturday was not the best preperation and I only missed my target time by a couple of minutes.

Great support even with the weather and it was good to see people still hanging around after they'd finished.

In short: Didn't see Jeremy Clarkson !!!
In full: Very well organised run, quite fun running around the Top Gear test track taking the famous bends at somewhat slower speeds than the "Star in a reasonably priced car". Outside the track, the course was well marshalled and challenging enough with two short but nasty little climbs, expecially the one at 17 miles - just what my legs didn't want. If the weather was better, probably would have seen more spectators. Water station volunteers really enthusiastic and freindly, plenty of energy gels and Jelly Babies, even on the second lap. Good preparation for London or Edinburgh Marathons. Will be back next year.
GREAT MEDAL.

In short: I'm glad I found this race!
In full: Thanks to the organizers for this race. Very well organized. It is so convenient to have the car park next to the start. Plenty of water and energy bars. Well marshaled, good Medal and nice training log book. No hassle to arrive or to leave. Toilets were good and clean although few more would be better. The course is ok except for a total of 6 miles running around the aerodrome. Well done!

In short: Well organised with great marshalls
In full: Did the Autumn Tempest but this time decided to try the Spitfire. Found it easier this time round, though was pleased to get to the finish line as it is the first time I've run 20 miles. Marshalls were great - very encouraging - ample water stations and loads of gels......... only suggestion for improvement would be to have all the portaloos in a row together so that don't have two separate queues. Worked a treat at Tunbridge Wells where the long queues soon went down.

Nicky and Alan are great event organisers - well done!!!! Will definitely do this again.
