In short: Friendly, muddy, quaint.
In full: Well, that was one race that exceeded my expectations! Perfect weather (considering the storms the day before), small number of entries kept this nice and friendly, with loads of encouragement from the marshals. Pretty village location, with lovely cakes and drinks served at the end at the village hall; Great course with LOADS of mud, some of which I became personally acquainted with during a lapse of concentration at the back end of the race ;-) Ran a couple of miles with a chap that smashed through every puddle on the way. Decided this was a great idea, and finished with clean(ish) trainers and a broad grin on my face. Thankful for the downhill last mile. Can't recommend this highly enough, will definitely return...

In short: Perfect wet, muddy autumn race.
In full: This was my first time at this race and I was not disappointed. Slightly stickier mud than Sodbury and a little hillier than I was expecting, but a fantastic downhill last mile(ish!) to the finish. Will definitely be back next year.

In short: Great race - outstanding organisation
In full: Beautiful weather this year and the race was set in Wiltshire downlands, one of the most beautiful counties in the country. Outstanding organisation, numbers sensibly limited to 150, tempting cakes at the end, very fast results and prize-giving service, - in short, no hanging around. What more can you want? Sure, they route you through as much mud as they can find so you have to take care and don't expect a pb. But you feel good after a great race! Count me in next year!

In short: Great Race....Mud, Mud, Mud
In full: This was my first race ever! So didn't really know what to expect. Everyone was really friendly and made me feel right at home.

The course started off on a lovely track undulating through the lovely countryside which lured me into a false sense of security before the mud! Oh so much mud, legs were destroyed after about 4 miles! Luckily the last mile is all downhill!

Great day, would defo do it again!
