In short: Great race for PB's. Minor niggles stop this from being top class though. In full: This was my first competitive 10 mile run, having done 10k's before. The course was mostly flat, and I managed to shave a good amount off my own training 10 mile time, so I'm really glad I did it. The marshalls were great, as were the passing motorists on the A59 who were patient to a man/ woman when we crossed their paths at roundabouts. There was a good mix of club runners and willing beginners like me. It was a friendly race. If the organisers are interested, I'd make these constructive criticisms: the car park could have been signposted better at the roundabout, and although not important, medals and goodie bags always go down well. I did the Southport 10k last month, and the Liverpool one before that, and the sample merchandise (which I know the organisers did not pay for) was welcome. I would stress that these are minor quibbles though. It was well worth the trip. Date of review: November 19, 2006

In short: Good fast course In full: I enjoyed this race and loved the course. It was mostly flat, but with a couple of tougher bits thrown in to keep it interesting. There was some good scenery and country roads, and I didn't mind the dual carriageway as it least there were fields around it.
The marshalls were very good at keeping cars off the roads whilst also keeping the drivers happy - I've never seen so many cars being hold up by a race with cheery drivers instead of impatient ones before.
The organisation overall was great and getting free print-outs of the result was a very nice touch. The only slight problem was the car park being full nearly a hour before the race and no-one to advise us where to park, but that's being a bit harsh since it was a good race.

In short: Fast course, nice tee. In full: Smoothly organised event. Well marshalled but boring dual carridge way section. Perfect weather for a PB this year. Strong field with many club runners could put beginners off. Date of review: November 19, 2006
