In short: Good local race In full: Thank you to all organisers and marshalls. Little bit worried to hear there were potential parking problems, so we turned up VERY early! All seemed to go smoothly, and even the finish line seemed less chaotic this time. Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: No issues with the race, enjoyed it, just very disappointing to be told they had run out of T shirts, so there was not any left, although it states a medal & Tshirt to all finishers Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: Great race! In full: Great turnout, good atmosphere and well organised. Plenty of water handed out on the course and at the end. Nice medal at the finish line as well. My chip timing worked fine for me. Will be returning again in 2013! Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: Good run in the sun In full: Posting this before the times go up tonight so not sure exactly what my time was yet so hoping that'll be up later that evening like they said :D Got a medal, didn't realise they were handing out certificates and they had just run out of shirts when i'd got my water. Apparently the shirts were leftover from last year and they were just getting rid of them. Parking was ok, well marked out. 2 water stations were good! Lots of people, friendly atmosphere, no major problems with traffic. Enjoyed it and would do it again!! Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: No result for me?? In full: despite having a chip i dont seem to have been given a time. Im new to this so it was important to have a base line, however slow after all that effort. Really disappointed, but Im a swimmer so a splash in the Lido afterwards cheered me up no end. Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: Felt like a proper run In full: My 3rd race this year and 2 weeks on from my first half I still managed a PB. Felt well organised and friendly when I was struggeling a little at 8k was encoraged and spurred on by another runner Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: Nice day out In full: Local run race with no big sponsor. The course is not traffic free but not an issue on these country lanes. A big well done to all those involved for a well organised event. Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: Small scale and friendly with it In full: This was my first time running the Woodhall Spa 10k and I was a little apprehensive due to previous years reviews. However, there were plenty of stewards and everything seemed well organised. The course was a scenic canter through the countryside although there was traffic to contend with during the race, but this was infrequent and caused no problems.
There were a couple of water stations which were welcome as when the sun came out it was very warm. There was a great atmosphere at the finish and everyone received a medal and a t shirt, along with a bottle of water.
Everyone seemed friendly. There were a lot of club runners for the size of the field (just less than a 1000) and these were predominately local (Sleaford and Lincoln) not that there's anything wrong with that of course!
An enjoyable morning's racing, and I'd definitely do it again :-) Date of review: June 10, 2012
In short: Shame about the finish In full: You need to get here early as the village gets completely clogged after 10.00 am. The main car park seemed to be full of caravans this year. Was expecting to have to pay for parking as the pack specifically metioned it but nobody collected the money.Wouldn't have minded paying. The finish was really bad this year - it was difficult actually getting over the line and to the water and tee shirts - liked the design, they were better than last year. Getting away after the event was easier this year but I suspect this was because we stopped for an ice cream rather than just shootong off. Date of review: June 12, 2011
