In short: Excellent run to finish the year, must have for the yearly running even calendar In full: Totally enjoyed the run. Incredibly muddy, but that just added to the real fun, the only race I have laughed at during the race. Really friendly and incredibly well organised.
Loved the medal! Date of review: December 30, 2012
In short: Fantastic end to the year In full: It's great to end your running year on a high note, and this race was definitely special. Even the pouring cold rain stopped just before the start, so we ran in beautiful winter sunshine. The scenery was great, the on-road sections were traffic-free, and the mud was magnificent! If you enjoy squelching through ploughed fields, this is as good as it gets. The organization was also brilliant - well signposted, plenty marshals, a personalised medal and mulled wine and mince pie to finish. Well done to the My Sporting Times team. In short: Brilliant - road, wet, mud, hill, mud, mud, mud! In full: This fantastic run is a great way to end the year. The recent rain made the route very wet and muddy but slipping round the roman walls of silchester is one of the highlights of my running year. There are no boring bits on what is a lovely undulating route of grass, small roads, paths and ploughed fields.
This is a very friendly race with great marshals, good organisation and a lovely medal. It's also nice to get a slip with your time and position straight after finishing. Deserves to be real highlight on the regional calendar - this was my 20th race of 2012, and probably my favourite. Date of review: December 30, 2012
In short: Well organised, great relaxed atmosphere, a lovely (muddy) route with the effort rewarded by a medal and perhaps more so the mulled wine and mince pie(s!) - top rehydration/recovery fuel :-) Date of review: January 19, 2012
In short: Great way to end the year, deserved New Years Eve celebrations after this! In full: Friendly, well organised and great marshalls. As others have mentioned, the only downside was the lack of toilets. Really good personalised medal at the end, and the mince pies, flapjack and mulled wine were delicious! In short: Great route, great mud and luckily sunshine! In full: Could have done with some more toilets. Well organised race with welcoming organisers. The route was really good - ups, downs, mud, water, bit of road, field, woods. Date of review: January 11, 2012
