In short: Excellent race
In full: Brilliant organisation, excellent marshalling, carnival feel, quite simply could rival London. Just one hilly climb then all flat amoung the glorious south coast line ... BOSH!

In short: Great marathon!
In full: This was my third and best marathon so far. Thought it was very well organised, fantastic support from the crowds in Brighton, some hills in the first half, but great course after that, the only bit I really disliked was the section round the powerstation. Plenty of water available, also Powerade and Shot Bloks, personally I really liked the water packs, and found them far easier than the bottles!

In short: Great race, especially for the atmosphere
In full: This was my second Brighton, having done it last year. Once again, great atmosphere, brilliant crowds (very Brighton!) and generally a very well organised race (although I had to run 26.4 miles according to my Garmin). Managed to get a PB this year even though my training was severely restricted by injury, so I'm pleased. A bit more life along the Road to Hell this year (particularly on the way back) but as long as that area remains part of the course, it will always be problematic. All in all, great race, which I will do again sometime although probably not next year.

In short: A great spring Marathon
In full: First time running Brighton after having supported the previous 2 years. It was great, easy to get into your running pace, well organised, supported, feed stations were plentiful and the course had enough in it to keep you interested. Well done Brighton!

In short: A great alternative to London
In full: If you want a race that is not crowded like VLM then Brighton is for you, course has a few upflats but for the most is level, good roads and loads of water/energy drink points

In short: Perfect for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th+ Marathon
In full: If I compare it to london, there are less crowds, less drinks stops, more hills, some depressing areas (power station) BUT aside from the first few miles, you can quite easily get into clear air and run at whatever pace you want (for PB chasers). So if you want a race to run a good time on and you dont care about a few hills (garmin measured 133m of elevation gain) and lack of crowds in places, go for it. Personally im glad I ran my first marathon at london last year (where the sheer amount of runners kill most peoples chance of running at their own pace choice) and I used brighton to go out and get a better time (3.30). It was around 9000 runners, which was pretty much spot on for the course. I'd assume it will keep growing each year though. Not fast enough to get a london good for age place? I'd sign up now as you wont get a better chance of a PB outside of the south of england.

In short: Fantastic Marathon, Fantastic City
In full: Just returned from Brighton, my second marathon.
I really cannot say enough positive things about Brighton as a whole, and the marathon in particular. Superbly organised, brilliantly supported and just an all round fantastic experience.
The only tiny miniscule grumble is that you don't get a technical t-shirt at the end, having said that the cotton finisher tee is great, with a fantastic quote on it.
Can't wait to return to this city and marathon.
