In short: Best race of the year! In full: What more could you want from a race, cracking scenery, brilliant trails, great marshals, perfectly placed water stations, medal, t shirt, goody bag, free tea/coffee, cake, fruit, massages and even a free swim!
The atmosphere was brilliant and what a buzz it was to the build up, brilliantly kept up to date with the Facebook page and that was buzzing all weekend
Hills, mud, styles, fields, hills, trails, orchards, little villages in the middle of nowhere, friendly locals with hoses, scout groups running water stations and even a beer at halfway, can't sing the praises of this race enough, will be back for years to come, keep up the great work I&I, you've got something special here Date of review: June 23, 2014
In short: Tough but rewarding! In full: What a great event! The friendly marshals and numerous drink stations kept me feeling positive throughout the constant barrage of hills. The toughest event I have done to date with rewards of great countryside views & some rapid decents. Organisation, marshalling, atmosphere, drinks stations, course, goody bag & cakes all 10/10. Definately recommend to anyone who likes a challenge! Date of review: June 23, 2014
In short: The Best of this year. Amazing scenery, runners and marshalls. LOVED IT. In full: I recommend this to anyone who want to run through glorious English countryside, with enough woodland shade to make it bearable in the heat.
Fantastic organisation, lovely people running it and amazing people marshalling - waters, squashes, gels, sweets and wet sponges at the many water stops. All being manned by local people/scout groups.
People in their gardens cheering you on and dousing you in water from hose if necessary.
Great communication leading up to it and amazing end with free fruit, cakes, teas/coffee/soft drinks and a great medal and brilliant T-shirt.
In short: A fantastic (even if demanding) run in beautiful Kent In full: Not for the faint heart, but even slow runers who have trained for long distance (and hills) can do this fantastic off road run. The organisation was spotless. The marshals so friendly and encouraging. The water / feed station frequent. And of course the beautiful views make the pain worth it. Will definitively do it again! In short: BRILLIANT! In full: Wow, what an event... I write this with sore legs and a big sense of achievement. What a fantastic course - miles and miles of wonderful trails with challenging hills and beautiful scenery make this a real "must do". The trail varies between "good" surfaces to some really enjoyable sections that are more technical. Some of the descents are wonderfully fast and of course, if you are flying down steep hills then you also have to go up steep hills..! All in all a great challenge, especially with the heat in this year's event which added an extra dimension.
The organisation was absolutely superb, the race was brilliantly marshalled throughout and the helpers at the water stations were encouraging and efficient. The course was well marked with marshalls warning of more hazardous areas and roots etc. being clearly painted. Thank you to everyone involved with the event for a perfect day.
In short: A brilliantly well organised, marshalled and supported event. A must do In full: A great event from start to finish. The great organisation started with parking & race HQ, all very slick. The marshals and drink station crew were the friendliest and most supportive I have experienced. Beer at the half way point was genius! The course itself is tough but very varied and scenic. Fantastically marked including every single tree root being painted - and there were many. Superb finish organisation, amazing cake, and band playing. The goody bag was a shoe bag and the T shirt was a good quality "techy" one that actually fitted me. This event is a must do. Date of review: June 23, 2014
In short: Tough but rewarding. Although the heat was a killer this year! In full: My 2nd NDR but have grown up nearby and run most of the route in bits since I was a teenager. 2014 was hot and not a good race for me personally but if you like long trail running, an interesting route, great organisation, incredible marshalling and a fantastic and welcoming race for the elite through to the slower end then you can't beat the NDR. I know I'll be back seeking more friendly weather and a heck of a lot faster time in 2015! Fantastic job to everyone, a cracking event. Date of review: June 23, 2014
