In short: 'Virtual goody bag' a bit of a con In full: After paying 40 squid to enter a HM I feel the 'virtual goody bag' is a bit of a con and an excuse to spam me. Vouchers which can only be used local to Ealing are no good if you don't live there. Race was well organised and great atmosphere. Note to other runners: if you decide to cheat by cutting corners please give way to those who don't cheat. Date of review: October 3, 2015
In short: Perfect organisation and terrific course In full: Organisation was perfect. Baggage drop-off was simple. Start pens not too crowded and regular drink stations. It is a twisty-turny course which I really liked. A bit bumpy but no super challenging hills. Uphills countered by downhills so a PB is possible. Support was brilliant. This is my 10th half overall and this was one of my favourites. Would definitely do this again. Date of review: October 2, 2015
In short: Ealing Half delivers again In full: Great organisation, top-notch marshalls and enthusiastic crowds. It feels like the residents of Ealing enjoy this Half as much as the runners do. The miles simply flew by (except on the uphills!). Date of review: October 1, 2015
In short: Fantastic race, Got my PB! In full: First time that I've actually raced this course and the atmosphere was fantastic, the miles flew by and I was delighted to have picked up a PB. Organisation was like clockwork, sunshine, great crowds, couldn't ask for more. Date of review: October 1, 2015
In short: A fun closed road race with great crowd support and organisation In full: As it was actually my PB after dozens of Half Marathons, I should really give it more. But it clearly has hills and undulates. That said, most are in the first 3 miles so you get them out of the way early. After that there's the short steep Greenford avenue but at mile 10 you know it's downhill overall. So psychologically, it's not a bad one at all. There are barely any turns that cause true speed loss. So not bad for PB and you actually see quite a lot of Ealing. Other than the slight doubt about the course PB potential, the rest is fantastic. Closed roads, pretty constant cheering crowds, some bands, good organisation, good volunteers. The best of my 50 or so I've done across different countries (though I declare a small bias, living in Ealing) Date of review: September 30, 2015
In short: Amazing atmosphere makes for amazing race! In full: The atmosphere is really fabulous. So many local people lined the race, cheering, handing out orange slices and sweets. I found myself smiling the whole way round!
The course is a bit bumpy, but nothing too bad. Really easy to get to, closed roads and all in all a great day out! Date of review: September 30, 2015
In short: It is not a flat course but with the help of the pacers (every 5 minutes) and support of the crowds I got my best time for years. Great organisation all you have to do is run. Date of review: September 30, 2015
