In short: A recommended way to finish the year
In full: The organisers should be congratulated for keeping entrants informed regarding the status of the event beforehand. I would also suggest putting the pre-race information on the web site as, for me at least, it did not arrive in advance.

There was congestion early on and the first half of the course was quite undulating. I missed the 9 mile marker, which made the last 2 miles seem particularly tough. But the weather was refreshing, the marshalling and organisation were excellent and after the race there were some very good facilities - including a well stocked refreshment room.

My thanks go to Royston Runners for a very satisfying event.

In short: Thanks for another excellent race this year. Really like this course once out of the housing estate.
In full: Echo the comments re the dullard driving through the runners at the start. Helpful, friendly marshals, good on-course water stations, very original memento!

In short: Loved it - always a good run!
In full: Really well organised, good facilities. Course scenic apart from couple of loops round houses at start. Glorious winter sun, friendly atmosphere and great marshals (thank you!). Love the momento too - much better than a t-shirt. I will be back!!

In short: Excellent organisation and fantastic scenery.
In full: Great race to end the year. Great marshalling from arriving at the venue to the finish line. Housing estate start was the worst part but only due to the idiot in the Mondeo who couldn't wait 30 secs for the start and drove at people to get them to the move. Welcoming site to see the race director almost jump on the guys bonnet to get him to stop! Enjoyable, friendly and fast race with PB's all round. Gift at the end was fantastic.

In full: Rural scenery glorious. First 10 mile race. Felt very welcome. PB potential - something to aim for. I did it in under 2 hours and was delighted. Hope to run it again next year. Marshalls and organisation absolutely great. Thank-you!

In short: Fantastic race, well organised & catered for. A definate yearly must do!
In full: Beautiful scenery on a very cold day, course had been gritted in places where the snow/ice had still left its remnants.
Friendly atmosphere, nice warm showers back at race HQ & the best race memento/trophy I have had yet. Well worth it jut to get that! :D

In short: Hard!
In full: 5th year in a row for me, so had to run, but not really in shape and this is not a race to attempt when under the weather! After the first 3 miles, the course is almost permanently up and down and although none of the climbs are that hard, cumulatively they take it out of you.

Ignoring the pain though, this is a lovely race. Superb organisation, including chip timing, and pleasant scenery. Plus the best memento I've ever received from a race. Bargain just for that reason.

In short: Enjoyable post-Xmas run in north herts
In full: Start was a bit chaotic with some idiot trying to drive through the runners lined up at the start, but once out of Buntingford the run was very pleasant with a few hills to get the pulse racing. Would be nicer if they dispensed with the round the houses part at the beginning. Parking and toilets were fine. PB potential if you can handle small hills. Oh yes, and it seems strange to have chip timing, but only to use the timing pads at the end.

In short: Good post Christmas run on a gently undulating and mainly scenic course.
In full: Really pleased that this survived the bad weather. It is an enjoyable, mostly scenic course with a few undulations but nothing too awful. Not sure that we had to be there an hour before as stated on the literature though(sat in the car for over half an hour)but the organisation was generally good. I particularly liked the memento which is a bit different.

Only complaint is the moron that decided to drive through the masses at the start and as a consequence prevented me and many others getting away properly at the gun. I'm sure that he had something very important to do that couldn't wait 2 minutes!!

Well done to the organisers and marshalls. Hope to be back next year.
