In short: Good organisation, excellent marshalls, delicious pud! In full: This race sells out each year and it is easy to see why. The organisation is good - comments last year about potential funnelling at the end have been taken on board and resolved - and the marshall's support was first class. The race runs through an industrial estate for a k and a half but so what - after that it is through a couple of villages and back into the country park. Well done Heanor RC. Oh, the pud is delicious too! (I had one last year) Date of review: November 15, 2009

In short: An enjoyable 10K in a lovely part of the UK. In full: This year everyone had to pick up their race numbers on the day - something to do with the postal strikes? Heanor is surrounded by some lovely countryside and is well worth a Sunday drive out. No problems with parking - I got there early to be sure of getting a spot. I think some latecomers had to park on the industrial estate. Quite a challenging 10K with several hills thrown in. Part of the race is on a main road and I had to take care when overtaking. The drinks station was at 6km and I think some runners would have appreciated it being a bit sooner. Also the final hill catches some people out. Very pleased with my PB and glad I made the effort to come this morning. I am now off to enjoy my Christmas pudding! Date of review: November 15, 2009

In short: Quite hilly but more downs than ups after the first big hill. Ends with a nasty little hill! Date of review: November 15, 2009

In short: Part of the reason why the first 2k is round the industrial estate is because the course runs past the race main sponsor Matthew Walkers Christmas Pudding factory! Good race! Date of review: November 15, 2009
