In short: Fairly hilly course but enjoyable .
In full: Portaloos next year please! Free massage was most welcome. Muddy finish was not.

In short: hills steep, tough for a beginner
In full: The course is very scenic in places. I wasn't told about the hills beforehand tho but enjoyed the challenge. Marshalls and support on 10km course superb and thanks to the marshall who helped my son on the fun run. Only gripes the fun run needed more marshalls and set off earlier than 10am as stated. Thanks

In short: Hilly but sunny
In full: Lovely day for this - stewards were great. Can't believe more people havent complained about the TOILETS. There must have been 50 ladies in the queue in the sports hall with minutes running out before the start. The queue was huge in the other hall and you were not allowed to use the ones in the swimming pool (despite the posters saying you could). Just made it to the start on time.

In short: Worth a go.
In full: A good challenging course, some nice uphill stretches and some very welcome downhill. Very little traffic to bother you. Just missing a few additional loo's at the start as the queues were pretty big, and finishing on tarmac would be nice rather than the 100yd mud dash, and I'm glad we run races for the enjoyment, as the Tshirt design was a shocker.
Its a local race so i'll be back to do it next year.

In short: Tough yet enjoyable...
In full: Tough yet enjoyable course, I really enjoyed the undulations and hills (although the hill near the end was a real killer). The race had a really friendly feel, and the marshals were very cheerful and supportive. Although the crowds were sparse the ones that were there were encouraging the runners.

The t-shirt may not of been the best I’ve received but I didn’t run the race for the t-shirt so I’m not too fussed. Would I run it again next year..? Not sure, I enjoyed the course but if I’m hunting for a PB next November then this is NOT the course to run. That said, I am very pleased that I ran the race.

Well done Barnsley, you did yourselves proud.

In short: Glad I did it
In full: Only my second 10k run, the first being a Cancer Research big fundraising one early this year. This was much more for 'real' runners than me. But I didn't come last, and it gave my incentive to go faster.

Taking just over an hour in the last race I did was perfectly respectable, but here I was right near the back on an hour and 4 mins. It does make me want to get inside the hour mark more though, so it was a good thing to do.

Everyone was very friendly - not as intimidating as it could have been!
