In short: Fantastic scenery & organisation
In full: A great run; its described as hilly and although it climbs very gently it took it out of my legs, the down hills are steep. Organisation, atmosphere and marshalls all excellent.

In short: very friendly
In full: The organisation was faultless and the race is great value for money. All the marshalls were encouraging and it must have been freezing for them to stand at their points for so long in the cold wind. I particularly want to mention the chap at the turn around point at Parsley Hay, he was smiling and had a kind word for everyone who went passed, at what was the most exposed point on the course.
Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation, I wouldn't do this race again, simply because there are other races to do.
The views are great, if you can pick your head up for long enough, but the long climb is tough, and the steep downhills tougher.
It was a relief to get to the line, where the crowd really spurred me on.
Thanks again.

In short: Tough but quick marathon with excellent organisation
In full: windy at times & despite getting cramp at mile 20, this race rocks. billed as hilly but the uphill is nothing but a slight incline and the downhills steep but quick. very pretty race.

In short: Roasted Alive!!!
In full: But this is still my favourite marathon by far.
Despite the exceptionally hot weather the atmosphere was great, and the marshalls were very helpful and provided extra drinks and sponges.
A big Thank You to Ian Milne, Randell Tassell, and the rest of the team at Matlock AC for the excellent job they always do in staging this very special event.
Looking forward to coming back again next year!!

In short: Outstanding organisation - extra water & sponges at such short notice. Brilliant. Thanks.
In full: I tried to thank all the marshalls on the way round but just in case I missed anyone can I just add one final thank you to you all. It was hard enough running it but to stand there in that heat and keep smiling and encouraging us all was a fantastic achievement. You must have had to get extra supplies from somewhere so I suspect a lot of people went to great lengths to look after us all. Cold and wet last year, cooked this time. Next year you deserve to get the perfect weather that will make this one of the best races on the calendar. See you there (and yesterday I crossed the line saying never again!)

In short: Phew!
In full: That was tough! It was my 44th marathon and I have never run in conditions so brutal. A real challenge for Mr Milne and his helpers that could have gone badly wrong in less experienced hands. The scenery is stunning but my eyes didn't stray from my feet after 19 miles when it became a matter of just finishing in one piece! Thanks again to all concerned - a fantastic race. See you next time.
