In short: A great Bank Holiday race, in typical Bank Holiday weather. In full: Despite the awful weather, this was a very good event. It was particularly good to run on traffic free roads. While the course is undulating, it certainly has potential for a fast time (given better wether conditions). The results were available soon after and chip to chip timing is always appreciated. Well done to the organisers, marshals and volunteers. Date of review: May 27, 2008
In short: Great race, but very wet! In full: Only my third 10k and a 45 second pb despite the apalling weather - the gusting wind really slowed progress on occasion and everyone was carrying a good extra few pounds of water by the finish. Great scenery, closed roads, chip timing, fantastic marshalls & support, great organisation. Can't recommend highly enough! Date of review: May 26, 2008
In short: An excellent event, superbly organised, great course. In full: A friendly, superbly organised event that should be on every 10K runners list. Course is very well marked & the finish is downhill. All that is needed now is some good weather! Surely next year..... Date of review: May 26, 2008
In short: Very friendly atmosphere, location and well organised 10k. Well worth put through a washing machine for. In full: Well worth the entry fee for such a well orgnaised and friendly race. Course has pb potential and is scenic. IF the monsoons stay away it would be a wonderful family day out. Such a shame about the weather for the village but nevertheless, organisers and residents should take huge pride in what they put on every year. Many thanks to you all and will be back next year for sure. Date of review: May 26, 2008
In short: A professionally organised event for racers and fun runners alike. In full: Great organisation, course, scenery, support, marshalling, T-shirt and weather (for fish). Date of review: May 26, 2008
In short: A great local 10K - and one year the sun might even shine ! In full: This was my second year and although I improved on last year's time by 2 minutes it's difficult to say how much quicker I could have gone without the wind and rain.
A really good figure of 8 loop makes it interesting for runners and spectators alike. The race always seems really well organised and I must add a massive thanks to the marshalls who endured the conditions today.
I just hope for the organisers and rest of the village fete that maybe next year it won't rain and blow a gale ! Date of review: May 26, 2008
In short: Wet, wet, wet! In full: First time at this race and was very impressed with the organisation and course. Shame about the horrendous conditions (strong wind and rain) but didn't stop an impressive winning time of sub 32 minutes. Also a big lift to flagging legs to come back through the village at around halfway, to fantastic exhortations of support. Date of review: May 26, 2008
In short: The first underwater 10K I've done! In full: Cracking British Bank Holiday weather. Utterly soaked from start to finish with a nice breeze to boot. Great local 10k, with lovely atmosphere, nice route, friendly people and the wettest conditions I've ever run in. Well done to Melanie and the others for the organisation, to the marshalls for stnading out in the rain and to the Air Cadets for getting soaked while organising the parking very efficiently. Apparently it was a bit like this last year too! Shame on Essex CC Health & Safety numpties for not allowing bunting across the road without 6 pages of regulations being met - Pathetic. Back next year for the sunshine.... Date of review: May 26, 2008
