In short: Great race as a long run before a marathon. In full: Thanks to the Marshall's today as very cold you did a great job I hope you have now warmed up. Great route and a new finish. Date of review: March 24, 2013
In short: Excellent organisation and fantastic atmoshpere - friendly marshalls, friendly runners and home made cakes at the end! In full: I was a last minute entry to this (thankyou Brian) after enjoying the Surrey Spitfire 20 last Sunday and wanting more of the same - and wasn't disappointed! Once again the two things that make this event really enjoyable are the clockwork organisation and the fantastic friendly atmoshpere. Plenty of easy to find parking, lots of toilets, excellently marked course and enthusiastic friendly marhsalling. The 9-6-6 helped the mental count-down and I didn't even need to use my IPod (which is rare!) A speacial mention to the marshall who shouted before the last killer hill (at mile 20!) - "one last hill and then its all downhill to the finish"... I wouldn't have made it up without that mantra in my head! p.s. lovely homemade cakes! Date of review: March 27, 2012
In short: Excellent Spring Marathon Preperation In full: I did this race 2 years ago and cut off at 15 due to a heavy cold. Heading back this year I was determined to do the full 21 and with the glorious weather it was a most rewarding race. The marshalls were brilliant, the course is very scenic and the atosphere was very friendly.
Definitely a must do in the lead up to a spring marathon, the hills really make you work and the icecream van at the finish was most welcome.
In short: What a nice race..... In full: Nearly didnt run this as my knee was playing up but so glad I did...even if I had to call it a day at 15 miles while i could still walk. Lovely scenery and undulating but never too steep (albeit I didn't have to do the second hill twice!) Will definitely be back next year to do the whole thing. Well done to the organisers Date of review: March 26, 2012
In short: Pleasant running with good support from other competitors In full: I enjoyed the route across the slightly undulating surrey countryside in the lovely sunshine of a spring morning with good banter from other runners. The 9 / 6 / 6 mile loops made it easy to segment the course mentally. The only major downsides, which would have been out of the control of the organisers, were the challenges around the start / finish. Despite the first two miles of the route being closed, a UK Cycle Event had to share the same road and cyclists were having to plough their way through the running field. Then, to reach the finish line, I had to dodge a few cars turning out of junctions immediately beside me. Date of review: March 26, 2012
