In short: An early start after Metallica the night before. In full: If the clocks going forward on top of a late night didn't get me, it was the hill at the end of the 6 mile loop that did it!.. The marshals were very well positioned and friendly, so there was no danger of taking a wrong turn so was not too taxing on the exhausted runner, so all in all, it hurt!!..
Very well done to the organisers and, as mentioned by others, to the elite runners which passed us effortlessly. Where do they get the energy from?.. A good tester for the FLM. Date of review: March 29, 2009

In short: What a great race!!!! In full: Great course, very reasonable to enter, plenty of water stations and some very vocal support from the locals. Just the ticket for a pre London FLM warm up. Date of review: March 29, 2009
In short: Excellent well organised local race. In full: This was a well organised race with a wide range of runners both by age and ability.
The choice of finishing at 15 or completing a second loop is a good idea.
Local residents were very supportive and the course was very well marshalled. Drinks stops were also efficient although I much prefer a bottle to a plastic cup. However as this is a local race one can not complain. All in all I really enjoyed the day and take my hat off to the elite runners who sprinted past us on the first 6 mile loop. Thanks for a great day out.
In short: Pretty scenery, nice low-key lead in to the FLM. Slightly demoralising for those of us at the back to be lapped by the fast runners, but all were very encouraging! One short repeated stretch along a fast main road was slightly hazardous. Date of review: March 29, 2009
