In short: Most enjoyable first half marathon.
In full: If only people would put a realistic time down on their entry form it would make it even more enjoyable. I am not the fastest of runners but spent the entire run squeezing past walkers and slower runners. I have nothing against walking the event but surely they should start at the back.

In short: An amazing experience!
In full: My second half marathon, everyone I'd spoken to about it raved about the atmosphere-and they weren't wrong. The final mile with the Red Arrows overhead with a massive crowd was awesome. Will be back next year!

In short: the gnr continues to give me the buzz
In full: the gnr is certainly not for creating a pb, but a fantastic atmosphere, fantastic day out for families and friends, a real boost to runners, and an amazing amount of money raised for charities. i enjoyed every second of it , as i did last year, and feel proud to have taken part. i enjoy other marathons and half-marathons for their more serious race potential, but the gnr is, to me, a special occasion which should be considered separately from others race events

In short: It's an emotional experience.
In full: My 6th GNR and as ever it lived up to it's reputation. The GNR has become a weekend event not just the one day. The Saturday sees the GN Mile on the Quayside attracting big names and big crowds. Highlight of the actual race has got to be dropping down the steep bank on to the sea front in South Shields with 1 mile to go....gets me every year!!! Not the most scenic of routes but the whole atmosphere and emotion more than makes up for it.
