In short: Very hilly half in glorious english countryside In full: Excellently organised half marathon and great value for money. Very tough hills at miles 2 and 8 and very challenging course, do not expect a PB! Good support from thelocals and marshalls, will be back 2012! Date of review: March 20, 2011

In short: Loved this last time and it was even better in 2011 In full: If you are up to the hills, then make this a "must-do" race for 2012. Outstanding organisation and friendly marshalling. Hilly - as it says on the tin ! but fantastic views from the cotswold edge run along minor roads. Plenty of water, with a bonus of jelly babies and fruit at one point. Very fair price with a good Tee in a generous goody bag. Easy parking. Great post race spread at good prices - this is the way to organise a race by runners for runners. Very impressed all round. This should be up in the 2011 awards section come the end of the year. Well done to all. Date of review: March 20, 2011

In short: Beautiful weather, fantastic scenery and sore legs In full: My first half matahon for 6 months and a great way to return. This is a brilliant race - great support and fantastic value. The scenery was glorious and the hills challenging (particulalrly the last one). On of the best races in the west country.

In short: Great Course, and great organistaion In full: Despite what other reviews state I actually think that this is a reasonably quick course. The uphills are short and sharp but the downs are long and quick with a fair bit of flat in between. Very enjoyable with great marshalls sporting jelly babies and a smile.
Anyone who walked up the hill at mile 8.....shame on you it was just a little pimple. ;) Date of review: March 19, 2010

In short: Nothing like a spot of hill training!! In full: Most enjoyable race with some steep climbs, the course profile sent to you gives a very good idea of what to expect! Lovely scenery all the way round with friendly marshalls. Generally a well organised race which i would do again Date of review: March 17, 2010

In short: Another great Hogweed event In full: Another great HHH. I had to miss last year (after doing the previous four) and then 6 weeks ago I could hardly walk with a back problem …. But I certainly didn’t want to miss this years run. It was a PW – but did that really matter? As always, it was a really great friendly event. Great views around the greatest countryside in Britain. I always bring my Canadian visitors to this area – and they always want to come back for more – and so do I. This is a great run around some great scenery – and yes, there are a few inclines. You Hogweeds do have some great marshals – although I think I ought to tell you they tell lies when they tell me I’m looking good! AND - this year you also arranged some great weather. I certainly plan to be back for the HHH VII.

In short: My favourite half marathon - by some distance In full: Personally this was a bit slow and painful for me this year as I haven't been training as intensively as in previous years when I have used this as a training run for London, plus I was carrying an injury this time.
I made up my mind therefore to enjoy the event and the day as much as possible, and enjoy it I did.
Can't really add to my comments from previous years - this race has everything; glorious scenery, lung-busting hills, faultless organisation, friendly runners and marshals, home-made cakes, a useful memento and best of all, jelly babies galore!
This year we had the added and welcome bonus of fine weather, and I actually managed to catch the sun on my shoulders!
However I'm still trying to figure out, given that it is only half an hour down the motorway and receives such fantastic reviews (deservedly) that more people from Swindon don't do it?? Would anyone care to enlighten me?
Fantastic as always Hogweed Trotters, can't wait for next year. Date of review: March 16, 2010

In short: a great sense of achievement after finishing this great race In full: a fanatastic morning in the countryside and a feeling that no race holds any fears for me now. great course, thanks hogweeds, and to all marshalls and volunteers involved. the long hill did eventually defeat me, but now i know what to overcome when i return next year. can't wait. In short: Of course very hilly, thanks for the jelly babies In full: Great run. Hogweeds are evidently a great club. The jelly babies at 9 miles powered me to the end. Great organisation. Date of review: March 15, 2010
