In short: This race should be renamed the MUDminator........

In short: Great race, well organised great views. Lots of lovely mud.
In full: Follow me follow, down to the hollow and there we shall wallow in glorious....
It's about 13.7km in distance and is by far the muddiest run I've ever done. Luckily the overnight rain and gales weren't enough to turn it into the Somme, but the slippery surface mud ensured you had to keep your wits about you when crossing angled slopes. Some of the mud lanes did look as though a fleet of tractors had passed through them. I love this kind of race as I can generally cope fairly well with the conditions. Spare a thought however for Mrs Racing P, as she considered it more of an ordeal and was not impressed by the cheeky little stream run they tack on at the end. The one downside is the 10 stiles, however as a chap with an amazing moustache said, if you want to avoid the queues get there sooner. All in an excellent race though.

In short: Well, that was muddy!
In full: First there was mud ... and then there was more. This was a most entertaining race, some country lanes, run along a river, through some woods and across some fields but always, mud mud mud. Good job there were showers at the end. The marshalling was very well organised so thanks to all. I managed to add 20 minutes to my normal run time for 9 miles, not a speedy race but lots of fun!

In full: Lovely race - lots wetter than last year. Slipped over twice and ended up covered in mud. Waterproof camera proved I was there. Great idea!

In short: Tough in the wind, boggy in the fields!
In full: First time I have run this and also my first x-country race so didn't quite know what to expect. The recent weather didn't exactly help the mud which turned into bogs in places but added to the challenge! Stream and puddles offered a great chance to clean the trainers! The run along the river was epecially hard running into a strong wind with no shelter so took it out of you somewhat and left me a bit aprehensive to attack the second half of the race not knowing what was around the corner having not run this before. The small field and lack of fun runners left little oppurtunity to pass from the back which I kind of enjoy doing as it gives me a boost so it was a interesting to run a different kind of race...all in all good fun and will try and do again next year.

In short: great way to spend a sunday morning
In full: excellent course, plenty of mud, loads of puddles, great marshalls and organisation.
The hardest bit is the flat section along the river bank into the wind.

In short: Hard, muddy, varied scenery, friendly and well-marshalled and organised. My first off-road race; tough without mile markers to pace!

In short: Mud-tastic!
In full: A still, cool day helped to make this an enjoyable run. My only regret is that I lost my shoe in the mud - and dropped 3 minutes from my time.
