In short: Great race, tortuous route, but I really enjoyed it!
In full: My third Robin Hood and my fastest by 2 minutes. Not sure the first half is any flatter or faster, just felt more twisty. One or two mile markers seemed to be out - which is always frustrating.

I really don't like this course much (and its been blowing a gale each of the last two), but I've run two of my most satisfying marathons here (I know, contradictory or what?), so chances are I'll do it again.

Overall organisation is good, not too crowded despite the numbers, plenty water stations and very helpful marshalls/St Johns Ambulance crew at the finish who helped me recover!

Well done Nottingham!

In short: Definitely better this year without the big hill early on , and the crowds were fantastic. Endless loops around the lake in the 2nd half were morale-sapping and the only negative in a great raceh

In short: Full course seems like an after thought
In full: My first ever full marathon, but I found parts of the full course troubling. You shouldn't have to put up with a section warning you of uneven surface at around 17/18 miles. Imagine spraining your ankle because your dodging potholes. I also find the passing other runners annoying, it's as though they were trying hard to fit the miles in. And I know you can't do anything about the wind, but the run round the lake was ridiculous.

That said the first half was really good, and there are more than enough water stations.

In short: Heard it was good. Didn't realise how good.
In full: Organisation incredibly good. Varied terrain but lovely through the university. Little slightly challenging hills but nothing too great. One off medal (How many have Robin Hood in them) Good crown but needed geeing up to cheer people other than their relatives. 1st time in Nottinham for me but can't wait for next year.

In short: A Tale of two halfs
In full: The first half seemed to have more undualtions this year even though they took one big hill out. Despite the number of runners the first few miles of congestion where not as bad as I expected. The second have was relatively flat although was exposed to the strong head winds.
There was no gels available at any of the water stations when we got to them.

In short: Needs a complete 2nd half overhaul
In full: A tale of two halves - the oragnisers appear somewhat sadistic, running you past the finish line for the half before sending you out into the sticks for a fairly dull tour of a rowing lake - complete with a big gale force wind. As you come back in, they then send you away from the finish line for a final 1/3 of a mile before turning back on yourself. Surely with a place as big as Nottingham there is not the need to do this???
